I always enjoyed walking the Strip at night and looking at all the shows (pirate show at Treasure Island, water show at Bellagio). The shops in the Venetian and Caesar's Palace are incredible. Downtown there's a night-time show where you stand under this huge dome over the street and they do a light show on it.  It's pretty neat. I haven't been to Vegas in about a decade, so there's probably tons of new stuff!

Like Acrosthec said, the fountain show at the Bellagio is a definite MUST. However, Treasure Island changed their pirate show about 2 years ago and it's really bad. (I went to Vegas in March with the roommates, bf, and a few of his friends)I personally loved the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Going up to the top of the Stratosphere is fun too--even for me, and I'm terrified of heights. You should also try and spend one night in Downtown Las Vegas, where all the old casinos are.Get passes to ride the Deuce Bus. It goes the length of the strip and to downtown Vegas. When I went, passes were $7/day for unlimited rides.

def. go to the Venetian! I love just walking around and looking at everything - it's like disney world, all the hotels are so done up.there's a garden and glass flower ceiling in the Bellagio that's awesome. Stop in at the customer service desks at the hotel and ask if anything special is going on - when I was there the Bellagio was having a huge Monet gallery exhibit. The New York, New York rollercoaster was fun!!

Can I ride this bus during the day?  I want to go exploring but am too lazy to do it all myself.  I'm staying at the Bellagio so odds are I'll just entertain myself there most of the day.  I wish FI got more breaks.  He can't even meet me for lunch.  :-(

Yeah you can ride the bus all day. I don't know the hours it runs, but we got on it at about 9:30 in the morning one day, and the latest we rode it at night was 1 AM. Mostly we stayed in the central strip area (we stayed at Caesar's) and only used the Deuce to get to downtown, the Stratosphere, and Mandalay Bay because they were kinda far from us.

I like downtown Vegas. It's older and not as flashy as the Strip, but that's where Sinatra, etc, used to hang out in the 40s and 50s. There's a good buffet downtown at Main Street Station. I think it's around $15, but for the price, it's great. Don't do the $5 buffets. They suck.At night downtown over Fremont St. there is a light show, which is pretty neat. I think they do it every 30 minutes. You should be able to take a bus down Las Vegas Blvd (strip) for $1 or a cab to get downtown. Just ask for Freemont St. My favorite hotel/casino is Paris Las Vegas. The eiffle tower is exactly half the size of the real eiffle towel. I think it's worth it to go up there and then watch the Bellagio water show from above. I'm actually staying as Paris next month!Trivia: the Las Vegas strip was named after the Sunset strip.

If you like Ribs, get them at the Harley Davidson Cafe.  I am a total meat lover and still think they were the best I've ever had.  Most of all, just have fun!  You don't need to plan too much things just fall into place out there, there is so much to do and see!  Love it!

Living in AZ I have been to Vegas way too many times :) - The Bellagio is right in the center of a bunch of cool places to check out.  The lobby area of the Bellagio is always decorated beautifully and there are some gardens to check out there.  The Paris is right across the street and Ceasars is next door (tons of shopping in the Forum Shops at Ceasars!) The Forum shops are perfect to walk around during the day and there are plenty of places to eat and explore while you are in the shops.  The Venetian is another place you should check out too...the have gondola rides running right through the hotel.  A bit of a walk from the Bellagio but worth it.  They also have awesome Gelato in the center of the hotel. The Pirate Show outside the TI has been redone and you can definately skip that, it is terrible...also the Las Vegas Premium Outlets are good too.  They are off the strip but you could take a cab for about $7-$10 each way...The Bellagio has an awesome Cirque du Soleil but we went to the one at the New York New York as well and it was awesome (Zumanity).  It was much cheaper and still amazing!  Margaritaville at the Flamingo is a fun place to eat...the food is just ok (IMO) but the atmosphere definately makes it worth it.  The dueling pianos at the "Piano Bar" in Harrahs are also a lot of fun. I am not sure of their schedule (they only perform at night )but it always makes for a good time.  There is also a really good Italian restaurant in the Venetian "Zefferino's" and if you call for a reservation you can get a table that overlooks the gondolas...if you go during the week you may not need a reservation but I would check anyways. Also the weather in Phoenix has been in the high 60s most of this week (and Vegas is usually cooler) so it may be too cool to swim, but the Bellagio pool area is amazing to just sit outside and read.If I think of anything else I will let you know!  Have an awesome time!

I went back in 2003 with my parents and we didn't really have any planned sites other than the Grand Canyon. We sayed that the Flamingo in a room right across from Ceasars and the Bellagio (perfect view of the fountain) and we happened to go that time when the Bellagio lost power for a few days and they didn't get their power back until we were packing to leave :( But at least I got to see the fountain for a few minutes and it was gorgeous! There is so much to see and do, your more than likely going to miss out on alot no matter how much you do see. I would have loved to actually walk to the Bellagio and see the fountain in action so maybe next time.
