AW- Cap and Gown Ordered!!

I'm so excited b/c I got to order my cap and gown for graduation in May. While I already have my diploma, seeing as I 'graduated' in Dec '10, I'm excited to walk across the stage and have that sense of closure/completion.
As an added bonus, the cap and tam that are part of the doctoral regalia make me look like I should be going to Hogwarts, which make me soooo happy :)

    Jealous...

    ...always loved the cap that went with the doctoral gown...it's sooooo much better than the dorky one that goes with the bachelor's/master's!

    Also, I thought you were a law student for some reason.  Am I getting confused again?  You didn't take the bar recently?  Who was that?

    That's Wilber. But I'm guessing she got her JD which is a Juris Doctor.

    Yeah, I know what a JD is.  I was just confused because she didn't correct Peek when she said "PhD" (though correcting her would have been pointless, I now realize) and because it <em>is</em> possible to get a PhD in law.

    I think so... I know that a lot of law schools offer a joint PhD/JD program, but the PhD may come from the affiliated university and be in some different but related field.  I don't know exactly.

    Hey, sorry for the confusion. It is my JD, not my PhD. I've never heard of a PhD in Law, but I'm sure there are joint programs some where. And I did just take the Bar in February, but my school only has a spring commencement ceremony. So while I technically graduated in Dec '10, and have already been mailed my diploma, I decided to walk this spring. Mostly b/c the mailman looked at me funny when I asked he to shake my hand and pose for a picture when he handed me the envelope containing my degree :) hehe
