Not Engaged Yet

Insurance

So my BF will be turning 25 in September, which means his parents can no longer keep him on their insurance, and where he works doesn't provide any insurance. He keeps saying he will be fine without it till we get married, but we aren't even engaged yet. Although even if we were, I wouldn't want him to go any time without insurance, I think it is a really bad idea.

When I started working, I talked to the insurance people at my work about some possibilities. They gave me a brochure on Cobra(?) which is an insurance that they refer people to when they quit working here, but it's pretty expensive. I talked to them about him being on my insurance and they said the only way that can happen is if we are married.

I've tried to have an adult conversation with him about it, and he says he doesn't want to worry about it till the time comes, but I think there should be a course of action before it comes down to the wire. (yes, I am a planner) Do you guys have any suggestions?
