I'm a little confused by the concept...Child gladiators in a post apocalyptic setting as a metaphor for reality television? Seeing as I've never actually read it, I'm gonna try not to judge a book by it's cover. Could be worth a download :)

Lil B, you MUST read it. I was hesitant myself then picked it up on a whim a while ago- and fell in love. I think it's at least one of those books that's seriously worth reading just to try it. I wouldn't say it's a metaphor for reality television- but Suzanne Collins did say she was inspired by it and the news. There are a lot of underlying themes there.

I'm really impressed with the trailer so far- and so excited for the movie, eeek!

I was literally just talking yesterday about how I wished they'd come out with a real trailer already.  I'm excited for this movie and I really hope it does the book justice.

Lil B, you should really read the book.  I think the first book is only like $5 on Amazon and it's a pretty quick read too.  Definitely worth checking out.

Looks good. I liked what's her face who plays Katniss as Mystique in X-Men: First Class, but she's not really how I pictured Katniss. But it's also hard to tell from a two minute trailer.

What is the HG about?  Can someone explain them to me and why I should read them other then I MUST read them?   (Because you know I was told that I MUST read Twilight too)

A description really won't do it justice- it's a post-apocolyptic, dystopian society where children are put in a lottery to participate in The Hunger Games- a televised game event, where the winner is who survives and doesn't end up dead.

It's very well done though, as a series, IMO. Brings up a lot of questions of power and bravery, and even government.

I just have a hard time getting on board with those kinds of stories?  Does everyone die?

I've heard a lot about these books. I'll have to get some reading in after the semester ends.

Yay!!  About time for a real trailer.  I'm really excited for the movie but I just don't think that it will be nearly as good as the books.  I'm hoping I'm proven wrong.

Anyone that hasn't read the series - do it now!!! They are so awesome.

Just trust me, Raven! I was kinda meh about the desription and first couple chapters, but then I was hooked. And well... lots of people die. But mostly secondary characters. Not EVERYONE dies. And it's about a lot more than gratuitous deaths and violence. So much more.
