Vent - and NOT about my friend's wedding

So we have been telling people as the situation presents itself. 

 

We told our immediate families shortly after we knew.  By the end of January, most of our extended family knew.  With our friends, we were telling friends as we saw them or as it came up.  Most people knew we weren't waiting long after getting married to start our family.

 

Well, today is my birthday.  I had not said anything on facebook or made any sort of announcement about it.  Several people made comments on my wall about hoping I don't have bad nausea today or drinking sparkling apple cider.  So I figured why not change my status and put it out there instead of fielding a bunch of "are you pregnant?" questions.  Now people who already knew are saying exactly that.  I am getting comments to the effect of "already knew, but congrats." 

 

Um, WTF.  Thank you for making me look like an ass to people who I wasn't able to tell before this.  I deleted their comments and sent them a message about why.

    Annoying.  I don't understand why some adults continue to be so competitive.  The need to make sure that everyone is aware that they are more in-the-know is so childish.  Good for you for letting them know that their comments bothered you.

    People are idiots. A cousin of mine posted "congratulations on your big news" on my facebook the day we got engaged. We told all of our family as we saw them that day but were going to call our friends that night. Of course I got tons of, "what news" "are you engaged" "are you pregnant." Think people!

    & yeah. i hate people who transfer their common sense deficiencies to social networks. i just recently ramped up my settings and blocked half my FB from posting to my wall. got a few messages about it that were annoying as hell. but not quite as annoying as their crap being blasted on my wall, so i feel fine :-)

    I am also late to the partay, but happy birthday!

    And don't let them get you down, they are jerky. For whatever reason people seem to think that facebook is like a text message, only you will see it.

    Thank you, ladies.  

    Now I am off to the East Coast for a long weekend...  hoping I survive through the bridal shower and bachelorette.

    I am VERY proud of the DIY that I was able to accomplish for the bridal shower.  I have not felt so hot the last week or so and was really doubting whether I would get it accomplished.  I will post pictures when I get back. 

    Pray for my sanity.
