Date Night

Does anyone do a date night with their SO? If so, what do you do and how often do you have it?

This is something we've just started to do and basically we just pack a picnic once a week, head to a park and then go for a walk afterwards. It's simple and it's cheap and we both love the outdoors so it works for us. We don't eat out and would much rather rent a movie than go to one, but we already watch movies at home fairly often, so this is fun because it lets us get away and just relax and enjoy each other's company.

I'd love to hear what you guys do for date nights or random dates though!

We go to costco and buy movie a couple of pairs of movie tickets for cheap and then go to the movies as a date night.  We sneak in candy and snacks in my "movie" purse which is a tote that fits A LOT.  Hahaha....

We don't really call it date night but about once a week, or when we have enough money, we go out and do something fun. Usually it is dinner and a movie. But sometimes we go to the city or go to the park and just be together.

I love date night :) I love getting dressed up and going out with him.

I don't think we are normal.  However, our date nights often consist of going to Home Depot and planning out future remodling projects.  On Saturday night, we ordered food in and spent several hours planning out our addition/remodel of our garage.

We do get a babysitter at least twice a month.  When this happens, we usually go out to dinner and enjoy a leisurely meal.  Sometimes, we go miniture golfing or do something else active.  Often, we are creepers who drive neighborhoods to see what they look like on Friday/Saturday nights because we are scoping out where we want to move in a couple of years.

We don't have a set date night, but usually once every 2 weeks or so we'll try to get out and go on a date, whether it be going out to dinner, the movies, whatever. Just spending quality time together. I think it's important to do stuff like that, even when you live together, get dressed up a little and head out on the town together :)

We don't really have set "date" nights, except about twice a year, and those are for our anniversaries.  IDK we are odd.  We do lots of hiking and fun stuff together but we don't really count those as dates....

We don't really have set date nights...but we do have stuff that we tend to do when we spend a night together. We like eating out, especially at new places we haven't tired yet, we do movies every now and then, and my favorite is going to a vineyard and doing a wine tasting. Once, we bought a couple of bottles of wine, went to the grocery store and got some good cheeses and crackers and drank wine and ate cheese on our deck.

To be honest, though, most of our nights that we spend just the two of us are just being lazy on the couch, maybe with some wine :)

We don't do the whole dinner/movie thing very often, but I love when it happens.  We're just cheap!  Lately we do fun things like kayaking, hiking, etc. since the only thing we have to pay for is gas money to get to where we're going.

Tomorrow we're going on a hike to Garibaldi Lake provided mother nature doesn't suddenly get angry and destroy my plans.  Its our one day off together this week so we decided to go on an adventure!

And yes, so long as nothing crazy happens and we don't go, I'll be an AW and post pics :)

Our 'date nights' usually include going for a walk and going out to dinner. Or else we just like to cook a meal together and watch a movie on the couch. I honestly prefer watching a movie in rather than going to a theater. Not only is it cheaper, but you can't snuggle up at a theater.

Good thing you added this, because you KNOW I was gonna ask! ;)

BF and I don't really have 'date nights' although it's something I would like to start doing. I feel like we've been in kind of a rut lately, and I think it would help to forget all the 'life' stuff we have to do and just have fun. We have started planning out where we would like to go to explore our new surroundings once we move, so I guess our little day trips will be sort of like 'date days'. :)

We go to the movies around obout once a week/once every two weeks (I buy the groupon/living social fandango deals every time they have them so it's cheaper & we never buy food/drinks AT the movies).  We go out to dinner probably once a week.  This Saturday we're having a date DAY & going to Coney Island :)

We don't have set date nights, but we do have things we like to do when we need some quality us time. We go for a couple's massage once a month. We usually try to go to dinner or a cheap seats movie on Friday nights. We also like to go for scenic drives to check out new mountain towns we've never been to before. We're considering joining a couple's bowling league when BF is on a consistent schedule. We also love to go hiking, take the dog to the park or go mini-golfing.

We get a coupon book every year (here it's called the Entertainment Book). I highly suggest it for couples! Any time we want to go do something but have no ideas, we flip through the book. There are tons of things to do in there...and they're cheap! Win win.

Next week- we'll start doing something special once a week on the weekday Andrew has off. This will be especially important as we'll be working opposite shifts (WAAAH!)- including weekends. I'm going to miss Andrew terribly.
