Weight Loss

Weekends suck. I went to visit my parents and we all went to the zoo and they don't understand that I normally eat every 2 - 3 hours, so I ended up going about 8 - 9 hours between breakfast and dinner, so when we got to the restaurant I ate 4 rolls before my salad even came. Then I was full, but didn't want to reheat a steak, lol. So I ate until I was in pain.

And that trend pretty much continued all weekend because once I get started, I have a hard time stopping. I should have brought my L-Glutamine with me.

At least I got in a solid 4 hours of walking around at the zoo and we had fun there. I'm also fairly certain that BF asked my dad for his blessing this weekend, but I told BF I don't want to hear anything else about weddings, rings, or anything like that until he asks me, lol, so I can't ask if he did and he won't tell me on his own. I'm happy but it's annoying too, lol.

Ok so here's to doing better this week and I'm going to come up with a new strategy for weekends when I'm thrown out of my normal schedule.

And update on the bladder issue: My tests came back normal so now they want me to see a urologist. That will be at the end of the month. I'm going to keep a record of frequency, what I drink, and how hard it is to go so he has an idea of what I'm talking about.

How is everyone else doing with their weight loss goals?

I'm in the same boat as you this week elannis. Weekends are so much harder! I was perfect all week. Then Saturday we went to Chili's for lunch and then had BF's mom's b-day dinner that night. See my cake post and you'll realize I did not eat well. I felt so sick yesterday, but I still had another slice of cake. ugh. So today I vowed to get back on track...and I gave 2 huge pieces of cake to the guys I work with. If it's not in my kitchen, I can't eat it - right?

I was my normal level of bad Friday and Saturday. But, Sunday I started getting back on track. After talking to my best friend ( she is tiny and a former model) I figured out a new and doable eating plan. I am going to eat as many low fat protiens and fruits and veggies as I want and only count calories for things like cheese, cards, basically anything processed. I get 1000 calories for those a day. I am also going to start my working out again and hit the cardio hard! I'll keep everyone posted on my progress! :)

Yeah, weekends are hard, but the zoo sounds fun! I did the Tough Mudder on Saturday, so I let myself eat pretty much whatever I wanted Saturday night and all day Sunday. I'm pretty sure I still didn't replace all of those calories, though. I'm not going to weigh myself until I get back to MS in a few days.

I'm still at 0 lbs lost, but last night while FI and I were joking around, I showed him my 'guns'... he flicked the bottom of my arm to make it wiggle, AND IT DIDN"T WIGGLE! He was like 'woah' you're doing a good job! I got up to do Insanity this morning, but just was not feeling it. I'm planning on going for a run tonight after work. I'm excited to get back into running and just do a couple Insanity workouts a week!

My eating continues to be 'eh'... I let myself eat french fries on the weekend, and I drank quite a bit of soda but it wasn't much different than a typical weekend. Next week in Germany is probably going to be a food catastrophe, but we'll be doing a LOT of walking so hopefully that counter-balances it!

Yeah, that does sound like me, lol. And I usually try not to buy stuff that I know I shouldn't eat (trigger food), but it's hard when you stay somewhere else. I have to come up with a new plan. But we'll do better this week! : )

That's very similar to the WW plan now actually. The veggies and fruits are free, but we still had to count protein. It works though! Good luck! : )

Hahaha, that's awesome! I wish I didn't wiggle. For some reason BF is greatly amused by messing with me in ways that make me jiggle, but he doesn't see it as that, he just likes to grab me and shake me sometimes because it messes up how I sound when I talk, lol. Boys are so strange, lol. Maybe when you're in Germany you can just split meals in half so you get to have it, but you can still keep it in moderation? I'd have a hard time too though. Who wants to be good when you get to try all kinds of new food?!

I mentioned it briefly in Book's Sunday thread, but I haven't made a full post about it. I will when I get back home and can include pictures.

It was great, though. 11 miles of net-climbing, belly-crawling, jumping hay bales, and monkey bars... Yes, I'm still quite sore.

This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving, while I'm normally so good about sticking to my diet, being around all that food and pie made me over eat. I woke up this morning to an extra 3 lbs that wasnt there yesterday :( I'm sure some of it is water retention from extra sodium, but it still bums me out. On the bright side, I'm on day 4 of the 30 day shred and I feel like I can work it off again!

Yeah, I am so not looking forward to the holiday food that is coming up! lol ... I'm going to have to be really, really good and remind myself that I can enjoy pie in a couple of bites instead of 3 large pieces, lol, and that I'd rather not eat until it's painful to move. I think my strategy will be to put very little on my plate so I can eat it and then I will wait ten minutes after I finish and if I want more, then I'll go get more... that's the plan anyhow, lol.

How do you like the 30 day shred? I'm trying to get an idea for how intense it is.

I am still going good. It is getting easier to eat all the fruit and veggies. Cant wait to see how much I lost this week (first week of following the plan to a t). It is amazing how much food I eat and still keep it under 2000 calories! Now that i am feeling less sluggish, I just need to get on a workout plan

That's awesome!! I say one small step at a time is the best way to do it! : ) If you're interested in starting to run, I'd recommend the C25k. It's awesome. That's what I followed with when I started getting into workouts.

It is challenging, especially since I had never done any kind of regular physical activity, but it wasn't too hard that I couldn't do it, and you can always repeat a week if you have to take a little bit more time to get used to it. But it's gradual, so it's definitely doable. I would recommend good shoes though; I tried running in cheapo shoes (before C25k, so I just tried to run without preparing my 280 pound body) and ended up with knee problems for a couple of weeks.

Hey, hope your thanksgiving action plan went well! I did ok, gained a pound over the weekend, but I forgive myself cause I am really trying! The shred is amazing. The first day really kicks your butt, but I found it easy to follow along and when it gets to be too hard, the exercise switches and you get to rest those muscles. I'm still waiting for my endurance to build up, but its only 20 minutes that I can easily do while the baby naps. I highly recommend it!

I should try this again. I bought it a year ago and did it for a little while. It's a total killer. I need to start watching what I eat again. I was down a bit last year when I was keeping track, but now I'm back up to the heaviest I've ever been, which is kind of sad considering I now dance three hours a week.
