Thintopia - Week 3

Morning ladies!

I was scared to get on the scale today.  I actually planned to "cheat" as in I weighed myself yesterday morning (before brunch) & decided I would use that weight if the mimosas & Crumbs cupcake showed up on the scale this morning.  I'm not proud of this but I did think about doing it.

Luckily, I didn't have to.  Somehow I'm the same today as I was before the mimosas & cupcake which is -0.4 for the week.  Not a big loss, but I'll take it.  I didn't really watch what I was eating all week & I only worked out once.

Overall, I'm down 3lbs over the last 3 weeks.

Re: Thintopia - Week 3

  • I'm down 1 lb from last week!  I'm very excited.
  • Good job! I've gotten into a bad habit of weighing myself almost every day... needless to say the scale doesn't move very much on a day-to-day basis.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • Coco: That's great! I have to remind myself when I have these smaller losses that when I look at the bigger picture (-3 over 3 weeks, rather than just -0.4 this week) I'm doing well!

Tiger: I sometimes get into that habit too.  It's hard when the scale is right there as I'm about to get in the shower

  • I also have a bad habit of weighing myself more than I should, but it's not as bad as it used to be.

I'm down just a bit, but that's ok because I made a celebratory cake for FI this weekend and then went to a birthday party and had some "pie". It was actually a huge cookie that one of the kids had decorated and he was trying to get everyone to try it, but everyone had already had cake. I hadn't eaten anything except carrots (I ate beforehand to avoid the food there), but I felt bad so I had a piece to make him happy, lol. It was loaded with frosting.

[QUOTE]I'm really nervous about weighing myself today.  I feel like I've done nothing this past week between working extra-long hours, my back pain, and sinking into a pretty low funk Thurs and Fri.  I should have worked extra hard to pull myself out of it, but I gave in and crawled under the covers and sulked.  This week needs to change big time.  Hopefully that will help with all the downer thoughts I've been having about myself.

    I'm sorry you feel bad. : (
Back pain is pretty horrible. It's connected to everything, so there isn't much you can do. I can't remember what yours is from, but it's probably good you didn't do anything if you have a back injury. Better to get it straightened out first.

And you shouldn't have downer thoughts either because you are an awesome lady, beautiful, smart, and one of the funniest I know! You're a sweetheart and always supportive. I hope you feel better. *hugs*

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Thintopia - Week 3 : Thanks love, you are the best <3  The pain is in my lower back/ass area...sciatic nerve issues.  The pain starts in my lower back and I get numbness/tingling in my leg.  My dad has had several herniated discs over the past 30 years or so, which is my guess.  As far as the bummer feelings, it's pretty much all work related.  I keep going through the whole "why am I doing this? do I really want to do this forever?" deal.  I'm hoping it's only a temporary feeling since I'm so overwhelmed right now.  I have a conference in March where I have to present, another presentation 2 weeks after that, and then another 2 weeks after that, while editing one paper and writing another.

That sounds about where FI has been having pain. He is almost all fixed up since he's been going to the chiropracter for about 6 months now.

Is there anything you can do with sciatic nerve issues? I really don't know nything about it. As far as exercise, swimming might work for that. Full body workout with no impact. I hope you feel better.

Well, hopefully you can make it through this stressful time and then go back and evaluate how you feel. And we'll all be here if you want to vent, have wine dates, or anything else in the mean time. : )

  • Yay, Liv! That's incredible. : ) I keep putting it off because I don't want to spend the money, but I think that African Mango has really proven itself with what you've said so far!

  • wow Liv!  you're doing so great!  you're on a roll for sure.
  • Yay for you Liv! That's amazing...I think I may need to invest in some African Mango as well. As of Friday, I was down 1.1 lbs, for a total of 5.3. I didn't do awesome this weekend, but I don't think I did totally terribly either, so I'm hoping I'll at least maintain this week.

  • Gosh, Liv.  I'm so excited/happy for you!

I personally will be skipping weigh-in today.  Aunt Flo got here this weekend and I didn't exercise all weekend because of cramps.  Plus, my period always makes my weight do weird things anyway.  So I know that my weight will be high if I look today, and I'd rather just not see it so I can avoid losing motivation or getting depressed.
  • I lost 1.5 lbs. this week.  YAY!
  • Wow great job this week ladies!

  • I'm a total loser this week again. (and not in a good way, unfortunately.) I ate whatever I wanted this past weekend...had a girls trip to Vail and just didn't care to check myself. I'm not up by much, but boo for weight gains 2 of the 3 weeks so far. SO GLAD to see everyone else was successful thought!
  • Good job Liv and Shoes! I lost 4 lbs this week :0

  • I know I've been really, really MIA on the board the last few weeks, but would it be ok if I got in on this round too please? I'm finished with the show I was working on, and reading break is coming up, so life is calming down a little now and I'd really like to kick my butt into gear.

It looks like most of you had a great week this week, congrats!
