Friend update

Some of you may remember my post about my friend who is in a horrible relationship and her BF was planning on proposing, well she dumped him! I am so proud of her! I know it was really difficult because she did love him. I don't know all the details, we are going to have a hot chocolate night when I get home and we can talk in person.

Thanks for all the advice that you girls gave me regarding her situation. I'm just so happy that she is finally out of that relationship! Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't go back to him in a few months!

I'm glad that she is out of the realationship. Just remember that you are her friend and rather than giving advice at this moment she probably needs someone to just listen to her. No matter who ends the relationship, it is still trying on all parties involved.

I'm really glad to hear this. IMO, the best thing you can do as a friend, is to be there for her. A lot of times, women go back to bad relationships because they feel like he is the only person left in their life. I'm not suggesting you drop your life to keep her occupied, but if you get opportunities to spend time with her take them.

Bravo!  Thank GOD!  I know how hard it can be to finally sever the ties of a bad relationship.  Good for her for finally doing it!

Though it is surely tough for her right now, it is Much better than if she had married this guy and 1 year later is saying omg what have I done...

But, you know this. Thanks for giving us the update (it's so nice when ppl follow-up), and it sounds like u r being a good friend to her.

Ending the relationship shows that she has self-respect. You can tell whether she has it or not by her choice of men. Glad to hear she's out of it now.

Thanks for the advice. Its hard for me to be there for her because I live in Colorado and she lives in Idaho but we still talk on the phone and text so she knows she can talk to me any time. She is one of my best friends from high school so I just want her to be happy. I hope this is the final break-up of their relationship.
