Weight loss

1. I'm on day 3 of my sticker idea and have gotten 2 stickers already. Today is looking good too!

2. I only have a one mile run left to do after I get off work and I'll be caught up on workouts.

3. Working out to Insanity when you ate a Fiber Plus bar is not so much fun!!

My question: Do you any of you have a power song? This is a song that you listen to when you're feeling a lack of motivation and need a quick pumping up. I don't really have a song, but I like to get on YouTube and look at Insanity result videos and dream about having results like they do. That usually gets my rear end motivated. I think posting here is helping me too. I feel like I'm not doing it all alone and even if you guys don't write back, it helps so much just to write down how I'm doing, whether it is good or bad. So thank you all for letting me take up space to ramble about my weight, lol.

I have a new goal too. I've been lacking on my water intake, so I want to try to get back up to at least 85 oz. a day.

I've been told that my workout music is "weird" because I don't pick out stuff specifically to pump me up.  I just pick music I like, and a lot of it ends up being slow or calming, but it doesn't adversely affect my workouts.

I have discovered a few songs that really get me going, though.  "So What" by Pink, for example.  I can't not start moving faster when I hear that song.

Elle: My dad is like that too. He runs and listens to Pink Floyd. I don't get it, lol, but if it works for you guys then that's great! I usually find most Black Eyed Peas songs to be motivating if I need something on my iPod.

I really like "Yeah" by Usher, but I usually don't listen to music when I work out. I actually find it distracting! I do most of my reading when I work out (treadmill) and the people that use my complex's gym like having conversations when I use the weights and machines, so I get to know my neighbors.

As far as motivation goes, I just keep reminding myself how great my clothes I bought in Hawaii will look! Every now and then I'll put them on to remind me I spent money on stuff I can't wear anymore.

I dont usually listen to music when I work out at home but on my walks and jogs any angry punk rock will do to keep up the pace, even rockabilly. When I really need to go for endurace I will listen to industrial or some other repetative techno cause time just seems to fly by!

I've tried to watch movies on the treadmill and I've tried music on the treadmill. I just can't get into it. I definitely couldn't read; I'd kill myself, lol. I don't really know how well I'd be able to talk to someone while running either. I always see people doing it, but I run alone, so I've never tried it. That would probably help the time go by quickly though. And that sounds like a great motivation. I had a bathing suit as motivation but now it's too cold, so I have a picture of my rear end in that bathing suit so I have motivation for next summer, lol.

[QUOTE]No power songs come to mind, but I like things that are either fast-paced or a little angry haha. Honestly, I was way more motivated by music when I had just broken up with an ex for like the fifth time and I was angry...any angry "love" song got me all fired up. Now that I'm all in love and whatnot and happy in my relationship, I don't relate to those kind of songs so they don't fire me up.  Sidenote: I just input all my food into my WW tracker from my weekend away. I currently have -20 weekly points left, and my week ends Thursday night. Crap. I will have to make up for those by eating INSANELY well the rest of this week and exercising like a madwoman. The sad part is, I didn't even really eat "badly" on my trip. But, like, my friend made soft-shell tacos one night, and two tacos, guacamole with one serving of chips, and a glass of wine was 35 points! 35 points ! My daily point goal is 37. Ugh.

I understand how different songs motivate us in different times of our lives. My tastes in music have changed a lot as I have gotten older and experienced more things too.

I also realize how much it royally sucks when you find out that something you thought was relatively ok ends up being your entire day's points. I have a favorite spinach dip from a restaurant that ended up being 30 points for the whole thing, before the chips. I realize it's a dip so that's going to be bad, but I didn't think it'd be THAT bad, lol. I've gotten to where I have to look things up before I eat them because I'm horrible at guestimating.

I got up at 5:20 this morning but never got out of bed to do my workout. :( The weather is finally cooling off though, so I'm hoping to get a run in tonight (if this darn dust storm lets up!). I think it's time to start mixing up workouts. Insanity every day is clearly starting to get tedious. I'm goign to map out a couple months of workouts for when I get back from Germany to get me back on track.

Yeah, doing the same thing every day gets tedious. I am doing Insanity again, but spread it out to 3 months and put in some running/P90x days in between to give it some variety.

I am also a big fan of a lot of Pink songs. I remember watching one of her first songs and she did a one handed pushup in the video. That was when I decided I wanted to be her, lol. Ok maybe not, but it was pretty cool!

I had been struggling recently to work out because the treadmill at the fitness center was just honestly boring me - whether i watched the tv there or listened to some "pump up" music. For me it clicked when i found that treadmills bore me and i needed actual outdoor stimulation so now i walk around the park and find alterbative routes home since it gives me a better workout until i can afford a gym membership again to have more variety. Loud ,rock or metal like Distubred gets me the most excited and makes me walk faster and veen forces me to jog some - and i am not a runner at all , lol. Recently i was also diagnosed with PCOS confirmed so i have been trying to reasonably change my eating habits without going overbaord to try and help as per my doctor's suggestions. i'm waiting on thyroid test reults as well , but i refuse to not believe this isn't something i can control..i'm stubborn like that. Motivation is a tough one i think in ways we all must find our own individual path to it.

I'm a Disturbed fan as well and I have a thyroid problem too. I have heard that it makes it really hard to lose weight, but I refuse to let that stop me either. I think attitude is huge in losing weight/making lifestyle changes, and it seems you've got a great outlook on what you want and how to achieve it!

I just did my run for the day. My first run in a VERY long time. I did my half marathon in April and ran maybe 2 times since then, so it's going to be rough getting back into it, but I think the Insanity is helping. I managed a pace of 10:19 for the mile, which is actually my best time. For the half I ran about a 12 min. mile. Of course, it a half marathon is an entirely different beast than a little ol' one miler, lol. I'm hoping to do another half next September, so I've got a year to build back up!!

My doctor confirmed with PCOS it is harder to lsoe weight depending on the person and thyroud can play a part but as she said , it's not the only reason so I definitely agree with the attitude thing. My husband is my partner in weiight loss which is a great support also. I've been trying to lose weight for years and years but it unfortnately took my health to be in question for me to really stop all the bad crap and focus on myself.

Yeah, that's kinda how it was with me too. I would go to my doctor each year for a checkup and each year, more insistantly as time went on, would strongly suggest losing weight and started talking about possible consequences for as big as I got (278 pounds). I started WW around the same time that I found out I have thyroid issues, and will never go back! My resting heart rate used to be between 90 and 100 and I would be half asleep. That scared me the most I think.
