What do you think of a PROPOSAL planner?

I just read this article <----clicky. What do you think? Would you want your BF to hire this lady to plan your proposal?

My BF is fairly thoughtful and a good planner. I think he'll come up with something good that's 'us.' At the same time, I can totally understand if I was a guy wanting some help with this. Though I have to wonder what a $10,000 proposal looks like!

This sounds like a bad idea and a waste of money.  Hopefully when it is my turn for this to happen, I would hope the BF would just to something that is right for us and what he is comfortable with.  I would trust his planning and would love however he decided to propose, because HE came up with it all on his own.  Not with the help of a planner, beside my BF is pretty romantic so I think he would do something sweet and memorable.

<div>This was my reaction, too, TBH.</div><div>
</div><div>On the other hand, it's their money. They can do what they want with it. And the proposal planner is gainfully employed, so that's good.</div><div>
</div><div>Seems very extravagant and unnecessary to me; on the flip side, though, I could see this as being a very sweet thing. That is, a man knowing he wants to propose in a way that will completely blow his SO away, knowing he needs help to make it happen, and going out and finding that help.</div><div>
</div><div>Does it ever annoy you all that I'm always seeing both sides of things? Sometimes it's awfully tiring for me. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" /></div>

Doesn't annoy me, Marley.  I see both sides of things.  I'm just arrogant enough, sometimes, to think my side is the superior position.

<div>Haha. You crack me up, lady. I'll admit to privately feeling the same way sometimes. :)</div>

I wouldn't want to marry a guy that isn't romantic enough to figure out how to propose in such a way that is special to me and him.

I think it sets pretty high expectations of everything to follow.

    Why can't people be themselves?

I wouldn't want SO to spend his money on something like that.  $10,000 toward a down payment on a house is a much better proposal in my opinion.

But I'm not the romantic type :)

Ya, no.  This seems like a waste of money.  I would never want BF to use someone else to plan his proposal.  I don't even try to have an idea proposal so that he doesn't feel pressured to fulfill my wish.

I'd much rather take the $10,000 and go on a fab post-proposal vacation rather than bf plan something expensive and totally over the top. I hope that bf will do something thoughtful, but not outrageously expensive. Thankfully I know he wouldn't do anything of the sort because he's extremely "thrifty"....as in we're going to 2 movies this week and aren't paying to see either. :)

BF has it under control, I'm sure.

Then again, I'm not really expecting any kind of engagement animal or a parade.

I think it's ridiculous. I can think of much better ways to spend 10,000 dollars. It would also mean less to me than something BF planned on his own.

Then again, if I had it my way, my proposal will be nothing extravagant.

Seems like a complete waste of money in my opinion.  I'd be really frustrated if BF did that.  It just seems...overkill.

    I'd still say yes though.
