Royal Wedding

Any else following the Royal Wedding? My mom is obsessed with the whole idea and is keeping me updated. They launched a website today so you can follow the progress (LINK) She plans on having a slumber party the night/day of the wedding to watch it all happen.

Anyone else up to speed?

Been following a little. There's some stuff in the February issue of Vogue with pretty pictures. I'm definitely going to be watching! :)

People Mag. had a story too, so my mom bought that as well. I like being updated and following it, I just can't help but to feel bad because they can't live normal lives. Kate's mom got yelled at for chewing gum at Prince William's graduation, and has yet to meet the Queen. It's stuff like that, that make me feel bad.

I've been following it a little but I do want to watch the wedding. It's just kind of a cool thing to experience. My mother watched Princess Diana's wedding back in the 80's so it's really interesting to see his son get married and watch it.

cdechristopher - I do agree with you about feeling bad. The whole family is under a microscope now and have to be their very best becaue of the royal staple now their daughter has. Personally, I don't see what the big deal was that Kate Middleton's mom chewed gum at William's graduation. I had to chew gum at mine just because it's what I do. Lol.

That's my mom's reasoning too. She remembers watching it so clearly that she wants to watch this wedding as well. I can't wait to see it, should be amazing!

I read things from time to time, and I'd love to watch the wedding, but it's the same day I leave for a weekend in Mexico, so I'm not sure that will happen. Does anyone know what time it starts (and by that I mean in EST or PST). Thanks!

ETA: I'm mostly excited about seeing the pictures afterwards.

I'm ridiculously excited for it. I was never a princessy child or dreamed about marrying Prince William (Harry is more my speed, the little devil), but I'm a slight Anglophile and I love all things British and English. I love London and it's grey skies, I love the countryside, I love the people. I have very fond memories of my times there. I'm just into it, so I follow along over here.

My main source is People.com, but I do read the British tabloids from time to time. There have been some pretty interesting specials on TLC as well.

I'm the same way... I love all things British.

And it is a historical moment. I mean, even though the royal family doesn't actually have much power now, to me they still represent a society that helped shape who we are. Think about it, Kate's getting married in the same place Anne Boleyn was coronated, where Mary Tudor is buried and where they held the funeral of the Queen Mother (Helena Bonham Carter's character in The King's Speech). Pretty impressive stuff.

I remember watching both Princess Di's wedding and Fergie's (loved Fergie's more, though, I think maybe 'cause there was "less pressure" on them), so I'm eager to watch this one as well.  I've just always loved all things weddings, so I'd probably watch it no matter who was getting married.

I'm kind of excited to watch it, but I haven't been following the preparations at all.

I am really excited to watch it. I really want to see what sort of dress she will wear and everything. I wonder what channel they would show it on? BBC maybe? I'm not sure. I actually bought one of those ring replicas they were playing commercials for. Not to wear as an engagement ring of course lol just for fun. I always loved that ring. My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts for being so interested in the wedding of someone I don't know, but I see it as history.
