I know my BF and I have been looking for a reasonably priced ring before our formal engagement. Today I came across this deal they are doing with a new deal site. You can get $100 gc for $50. Just thought I'd pass it on to you guys. I am thinking about getting one to get some silver jewelry for my mom for Christmas, and encouraging my BF to grab one too

I would not be annoyed by her post if it was coming from someone who's posted here before, or someone who posts here regularly (like when someone posts a Michael's coupon, etc.). The fact that she's got minimal posts and her SN is her email (which, btw OP, is not exactly safe) leads me to believe she's spamming.

wow.  this community is really rude.  i think you guys should all be reported for being obnoxiuos.  the knot, the nest, the bump, are all supposed to be places where you can get advice and share tips.  perhaps that is why i don't post here often either.  you don't have to post to be part of the community.  i get lots of tips just from reading since i'm not that vocal.  i do sometimes post on other forums but not here because i had a terrible experience in my first post as well.  people called me all sorts of names when i posed a question and just wanted some advice.  but now that i see this happening again to someone else i just had to step in. 

first off, there are a lot of people who talk about getting engaged, go buy the ring together, but it's not official until he pops the question.  in some cultures you are "formally" engaged after you do the bethrothal/parent-meeting/etc.  everyone has a different path to engagement.  don't make someone feel bad for not being what we know as "traditional". 

also, signing someone up for spam emails is just plain wrong.

lastly, if she is spamming there are just nicer ways to go about it.  give people the benefit of the doubt. 

thanks for the sale tip and can't wait to hear about your wedding plans when the big day happens.

Desert, thank you for saying this. I agree with Oceana, that a first post on that seems like it would be suspicious. But come on, it was over a sale. And then she responded about how she didn't get the fail comment. I don't see why so many people feel the need to jump all over someone who does post an advertisement. I do understand reporting it, and letting them know that an advertisement is against TK community rules but some of these posts go too far.

I really didn't mean to cause such an issue. I have no idea why my username is my email address, as I created this account 2 years ago and look at the site almost everyday, but have never contributed anything until today. Anyway, I don't think I will do that again. I didn't realize by letting you ladies in on a good deal I was violating terms and conditions; I thought I was helping some poeple out.

1.) Contact the Knotgods, ask them to delete this account for you.  It reveals your e-mail to us all, and is not safe for you.
2.) Create a new account with a screenname. 
3.) Come back and say hi.  We all have relevant information and great advice. We're all a lot nicer than your first impression has made you think.

We appreciate a good deal.  We do not appreciate people dropping in to advertise.

I second this. TK Customer Service has been good in my experience. But if they delete the account, the posts will still show up so delete your posts first.
