Not Engaged Yet

And Today on Ruelala...

WEDDING STUFF!  Today on Ruelala, you can buy wedding dresses, wedding accessories, wedding gift thingies and more.

Just thought you ladies might all like to know.  I'm a big fan of getting things on sale, so I figured I'd spread the joy.

Funny story... my colleagues and I are all signed up for Ruelala, Ideeli, and a few others, so we frequently talk about what's on sale.

The girl I sit next to is married.  She won a trip to Jamaica from her credit card company, so she and her then-FI decided to get married in Jamaica while they were there, so they had a destination wedding.  When they got back to the US, they discovered that the paperwork was missing an important stamp.  As my coworker is American but her husband is Brazilian, they were having problems with his visa because of it, so they just went to the courthouse and got married that day so they didn't have to deal with mailing back their paperwork and hunting down a stamp in Jamaica.  Then his family threw a fit, so they had a big wedding in Brazil a year later.

So she's been married 3 times now.  Same guy.

This is the same chick who told me that an engagement ring is simply a man's way of pissing on his property, marking his territory like a dog.  BF says I should wear a yellow shirt the day after we get engaged to "hide the piss stains".  I love that man!

Anyway, she saw the Ruelala sale and started planning her 4th wedding - apparently she likes getting married so much that she has actually convinced her husband to have another wedding.  I said, "Oh, a vow renewal with just the two of you, for your anniversary or something?  That's really cute."  Oh, no.  She wants the whole she-bang - ceremony, white dress, cake, dancing to the same song they've danced in Jamaica and Brazil, and a bouquet toss.  She says she's going to invite everyone in the office.

My colleagues and I spent a lot of time laughing at her yesterday as she browsed wedding dresses on Ruelala.  I think she may have bought one!

Ohh my! I have a Ruelala story too but it's not crazy like that lol.

I went to a spa party back in November that we got from Ruelala. It was from a different company, (can't think of the name off the top of my head.) So we were supposed to get three techs, one for manis one for pedis and one for massages. There were only two that came. They were supposed to send snack and decorations. They sent a fruit tray and 3 tealights. The nail tech did our pedicures on her lap! (As in we had to lift our feet up to reach her) She was dressed in a ragged white t-shirt and sweatpants. She looked like she hadn't even showered that day. We gave her a tip at the end of the night, and she never even said goodbye or anything, we just turned around and she was gone.

We sent a letter to both Ruelala and the company that hosted the party. The owner of the company was a royal Bitch and told us that we must have read the info wrong and that we did get exactly what we were supposed to and that nothing was going to be done about it. (Mind you it was $175 a person plus tip for 6 people) We were so upset with her it was unreal.

But Ruelala was very shocked with our experience and they have given us a free day at Exhale Spa in Boston, which is a very well known spa. It happens to be this Sunday and we are all so happy about it! I really like Ruelala.

    Wow, good service from Ruelala!

Cate - Maybe she's going for a Guinness World Record? I wonder if there is one.

And yes there is! She's got a ways to go still. The record is 83.

Same! I tried to google it and it was extremely mysterious. I can gather the basic idea of what it is.

Ruelala is a website that you have to be invited to. They have designer stuff for a discount. Everyday is a different shop/ "boutique" and it only lasts for two days. For example I got my mom her Christmas and Birthday gift from Ruelala, a Vera Bradley clutch and matching tote. The clutch was $20 originally $40 and the tote was $25 originally $60.

Is it anti-Canadian? What happens if you try to register with a Canadian postal code?

I will say I really like some of those toasting flutes, but I really don't know why I would need them.
