speaking of birthdays

What do you buy a 2 year old boy who's mom buys him everything he needs from thrift stores? It's FI's only nephew.

Is a baseball appropriate?

I'm not sure I would give a 2 year old a baseball, unless they make baseball mitts for 2 years olds.

I knew they made small ones I just didn't know if they made ones small enough for a 2 year old. If you give him and ball and a mitt then I think it's a cool gift. A baseball on it's own is kind of lame IMO.

Maybe a nerf baseball would be more appropriate. Can you imagine the havoc a two year old could wreak with a real baseball? I see broken china/windows/etc :) And definitely get him a mini baseball mitt. That's awesome.

I had a dump trunk when I was little. It's one of the only toys I actually have memories of me playing with.

There's this child sized easel at Ikea, it says 3 and up but I'm sure A 2 year old could use it. I think it would be cute and encourage creativity :)

Also, books. You really cant go wrong with books.
