Delurking!

Hello! I'm gonna introduce myself in the other thread, but I also wanted to say something here. I started seriously thinking about my future wedding a few months ago and got obsessively sucked into all of the wedding websites and blogs. I first checked out the NEY board thinking it would put my obsessing into perspective, like "Check out these crazy ladies! I'm not as bad as they are!" but instead I was really surprised by how, well, NOT obsessed you all are. It is great to read about other healthy long term relationships where folks are discussing marriage like adults. I am MUCH LESS wedding obsessed now. It's more of a hobby than an obsession - I'm sure some of you know what I mean! I'm looking forward to contributing to your discussions!!

Tell us more about you. How old are you? How long have you and your BF been together? What do you do for a living? Hobbies?

I'm 28, a teacher, my boyfriend and I have been together for a little over three years, we live together and have two cats, and I spend my free time watching movies, riding my bike, and going out for dinner or drinks with my friends :)</div>

I try not to make a habit of reading the introductions thread.  It's a good way to get a quick headache.

I'm thrilled that my delurking post turned into a kitty and puppy picture party! I have tons of photos of mine that I'll post eventually.

@cschiano: I've lived in Chicago for a little over three years (I actually met my boyfriend when I was visiting Chicago a few months earlier and already planning to move here, but he likes to tell people that I moved here for him). 

@nottheonlydream: I'm a special education teacher, so we might have something to talk about!

@SeaTea2: By "hobby" I guess I just meant that I'm not like planning things or thinking about it all the time or anything.

Are you teaching any subjects specifically or just wherever you need to be and what grade(s)? I'm mild to moderate and hoping for PreK-3rd gifted learners for reading and literacy.

I'm actually interviewing on Tuesday with Head Start - I'm a bit nervous but I'm glad to hear someone else knows what a handful the kids (and job) can be; also how rewarding!
