AW: purple crinoline and other DIY

Okay, it's the moment you've all been waiting for! I don't have the digital camera pics yet, but I do have a couple crappy cell phone pics. Here is what I did today (with a LOT of help from my friend):

We dyed my crinoline purple, following the advice here:







I especially love the way the lace took on a darker color than the polyester of the skirt. FI said it looks like it was professionally done.

We tied ribbons and tags on the favors (sandalwood fans):







We stuck in a few orange and pink ribbons along with the purple, just to mix things up.

We filled  organza baggies (in several shades of purple) with flower petals in orange, pink, and purple (and lavender to smell good!):







And that is my DIY-lite wedding stuff. It's pretty much the ONLY DIY I had planned... so.... I'm done! One day, not bad! What do you think? I'll post better (more true-to-color) pics when my friend sends them.

ooooooh, i lurve the crinoline. and the fans as favors. back when i got stung by the 'premature planning' bug, i decided i'd have fans as favors too . but seriously - even with cell phone pics, looks like you gals did a great job.

i love it all , so cute! And purple is my favorite color too so i plan on incorporating it in some way other than just the BM dresses. i wish i was creative - i'm trying to get the creative juices flowing and i come up blank , the pics look awesome , i loves it ! Keep the pics coming!

Beautiful!!!! The crinoline goes under your wedding dress, right? I never thought about having a different color underneath. That's a really neat idea!!!! You have definitely been working hard! Great job!

Awesome job! I love the crinny it looks so good. The fans are great and I love the idea of throwing flower petals, if only the church we're getting married in would allow throwing stuff.

Everything looks wonderful!!! I'm amazed that you did that dye job yourself!!!  You should feel very accomplished for getting all of your DIY stuff done in one day

I love the dyed crinoline. If I was wearing crinoline I would probably have to copy your idea.

It's much brighter than the pic shows. The polyester turn out a very light lilac color, and the lace and tulle are a nice bright purple.

And yes, it goes under the dress... so it won't be showing all the time, just when I pick up my dress.

Aaaand, since this is my thread, I'mma hijack it just a teeny bit. I just received my new and improved wedding shoes today!




They're not the electric purple I really wanted, but I'm very happy with them.

They match my crinoline very well, too!

This is a VERY old post, indeed.

Luckily, though, Narwhal and I keep in touch. Otherwise I would have NEVER seen this- I don't keep up with this forum anymore since, you know, I got married a year and a half ago and have been really busy NOT planning a wedding anymore. lol

As for the crinoline.... I just looked for it in the one and only place I could imagine I would have stuffed it, but it isn't in there. I did a Trash the Dress shoot after my wedding and the crinoline color did fade after running through a fountain in it. I might have even ripped it when it was wet and I tripped on it. So, no, I'm not looking to sell it because apparently I threw it away.

But I still have awesome photos.
