I got this file cabinet super cheap at a garage sale, cleaned it up and painted it. I painted it at my mom's and brought a pic home to BF to look at and he didn't exactly react the way I had hoped. The front of it is a chevron pattern and the rest is solid black.

What do you guys think? Too bold?




ETA: He said he wouldn't judge until it was in our apartment.

It looks like you did a fabulous job painting it! But I agree with PPs, it definitely will need to be in the right place for it to look ok.

I just used glossy black spray paint... It's going in our office area int our living room/ dining room. Our colors are black, taupe, cream and dark wood and our couch is a drak kind of sage color. I'll post pics ASAP. I guess if it doesn't go I can paint it all black.

I'm not in love with it, but I agree that it could be gorgeous in the right room.

Big patterns like that give me a headache though.  Says the girl with the checkered dress.
