WOW (yes world of warcraft)

A question inspired by the previous thread...

Is anyone else out there a Warcraft Widow?

My boyfriend plays quite a bit, though not so much that I would consider myself a WOW Widow. I actually play with him sometimes, but maybe we're just dorks ;)

Not a widow - we met through wow , FI now still plays , though i have now retired we find our quality time elsewhere now together , but he enjoys playing so i support it. It's how he knows 80% of his friends who are all local.

Honestly so glad my FI is not a gamer. No offense to those of you who are, it just doesn't interest me in the slightest.

That's really sweet... I have a couple of friends who met on WOW and are now married. They are both still heavy players.

The boyfriend tends to use it as his "zone out" time after a long day of work. I also support it, but I think it's because I enjoy the game myself.  I can see where some women might not support it because they don't see the appeal.

Also, I just checked your bio after typing all of that... your story is awesome :-) (I also think it's pretty cool that you were playing WOW from when it first came out)

No offense taken, loopy... it's probably better that your FI isn't into games ;-)

BF is a gamer but it's in the form of xbox, sometimes i call myself a call of duty widow.

It's not too bad though I like having my own time even when we're both home and I actually got the game for my PS3 and love to play it when i'm drinking. lol

You're right about the 'having your own time even when we're both home' thing. Whenever he is gaming, it gives me a chance to do the things I've been meaning to do... like read, organize, or waste time on TK ;-)

Usually I take a bubble bath, there is nothing worse than soaking in the tub with fun bubbles candles lit and a drink in hand with relaxing music playing and then having someone shout down the hall to you with a question that could totally wait. lol

Edit: my fantastic claw foot bath tub, basically the reason I pushed so hard to move here. ;-)

Thank you ;) Being a gamer is something i have been from a very young age , age 4 to be exact and it's a part of who i am as a person. I have tried being with non gamers - dosent work , at all. And it's nothing personal about them , but when i have nothing in common as a mainstay it hurts the relationship. I'm not just a PC gamer , but console such as Xbox360 and PS3 and knowing i can come home and talk about the random stuff is important and makes me happy. To each their own :P

    HAHA yes!!

(I actually did just "lol" - loud enough to bring boyfriend out of his game world for a brief moment)

He does the same exact thing. It's much easier for him to ask me where something is than to look for it himself, and I'm pretty sure he waits until I am occupied.

Edit: GASP at your bathtub, a-mazing.  You really don't want to see pictures of mine.

We have 2 bathrooms in our apartment, so we decided to each have our own (possibly a bad idea, I have no idea how I'll ever be able to share one agin), even though his has better lighting, a better sink, a full length mirror and more storage I had to pick the one with the amazing tub. lol

I'm intrigued, and curious as to what sorts of games a 4 year old plays ;-)

I too think it's important to have common ground with your SO, though I couldn't imagine if I were dating another musician or teacher.  It's nice to come home and talk about something completely different with BF after a long, irritating day.

Though, I guess it's different when you aren't going into work every day to play XBOX (I assume? lol) and then come home to your FI and discuss gaming.

LOL straying from the original topic is an artform around here!

    WARNING: Long winded life history!
Growing up I shared a room with my parents & my brother for a few years then we moved to a 2 bedroom and I had my "own" room but it was also the playroom so my brother was allowed to come in whenever he wanted.
Then we moved in with my grandfather after my grandmother passed away but I shared a room part time with one of my aunts.
After that I finally had my own room (at 12) but the 4 of us shared a bathroom. It was that way through middle school and high school.
When I moved to college I shared a suite with FIVE other girls and we only had one bathroom.
After that I lived with my ex and shared a bathroom with him & his father.
Then when I 1st moved in w/my current BF we shared a bathroom with another couple, calling that interesting would be and understatment.
We ended up moving and sharing a bathroom that used to be a closet, you could stand in the middle of it it and put your hands palms down on opposite walls. On top of that we were in a house with 3 other people so "our space" was just the bedroom and adjoining bathroom.

So needless to say when we were looking for a new place to live my own space was a huge priority for me. :-)

I wish I had dual sinks. And a light over the shower/tub. Those are my only two wishes for my bathroom. It is possible for us to get the light. We would need to move for the dual sinks. I would be just fine if I just had an awesome shower. I have never gotten into taken baths. Sitting on a hard surface in your own grime in water that is gettiing cold. Not up my alley.

FI and I met in Lineage 2 and played several MMOs together before I moved here (when we were still long distance). We played Guild Wars and then WoW for a while, but once I went back to school my time for gaming disappeared.

I miss it sometimes. I rocked pretty hard as a healer. He was always a tank. <3

When FI and I first got together he played A LOT of XBOX. Then a couple years later he picked up WOW. He kind of goes back and forth between the XBOX and WOW. Lately though he's really slowed down on both.

I tried really hard to like video games but I'm just really bad at them. I never had any console growing up and I just can't seem to pick it up.

I am so glad my BF is not a gamer.  My older brother is a total gamer and I've watched him waste years of his life away on those things.  His gf hates it and that has helped form my opinion of it.  I don't have a problem with other gamers, I just know I wouldn't be able to be with one because my brother has shown me that it's way addicting and sucks up so much time that could be spent doing something else.

I do like video games tho!  I didn't like the shoot em up type games that my brothers played growning up, so when I asked for a Wii for Christmas...my dad was shocked.  I love it tho!!!  My bf and I play games on there every once in a while and its so much fun =)

FI isn't an avid gamer anymore but he loves to collect video games and occasionally he will play an ISO or a ROM on his computer.  Her has almost every console that has come out since the original Nintendo and if he buys it when it is broken  he will fix it up in hopes of playing it one day.

I told him I can't wait to make him a "MAN ROOM" before I move in since his whole house is his "MAN CAVE" at the moment.
