Recommend a Flat Iron?

I need a new one.  Mine has started pulling my hair out, and my hair is damaged enough already.

I can't get an expensive one, though.  I need this one to be $50 or under.

Re: Recommend a Flat Iron?

  • But Ulta ALWAYS has the CHI on sale for $99, they are awesome!
  • That's tempting.  Good thing I don't have an Ulta near me.  :)
  • We can heat my thighs up and use them!

Not what you had in mind?  I got this one for Christmas a few years ago and LOVE IT.

  • I got an off brand tourmaline straightener for Christmas and I don't love it as much as I love my chi. Just saying. :)

Yeah...  I'm the same way.  Until I realize that they wouldn't reciprocate given the opportunity.  That's a sucky feeling.

Oh, I would bare my ass for you in a heartbeat.
  • I have this one, and I like it, but it's no Chi.

I left my Chi in a hotel room in Staten Island. When I called the very next morning, they said no one had found it. BULLLLL. Some housekeeper in Staten Island has perfect hair thanks to me.

  • My mother got me a CHI for Christmas, then hid it so well that she has yet to find it. Sorry, that's all I have to contribute to this thread.

Really, though, my hair dresser told me the main thing to look for is a ceramic one-she said to go to Ulta and just ask them for recs. I'd also look at TJMaxx. They always have CHIs for like $75, so I'm sure they have some other ceramic ones for a little cheaper.

That sucks about your CHI, but it's also really funny.

I was thinking about checking TJMaxx and Marshall's.  Now I definitely will.  Thanks for the suggestion!
  • TJ Maxx has great hair straightners for cheap! I have yet to go wrong with a straightner I bought from there. They usually carry only the best brands.

I use a Remington Wet 2 Straight.  It dries and straightens your hair at the SAME time.  I <3 it.
  • I love my Solia 1-1/4" flat iron. I've had it for at least five years now. It was $80 from folica.com, but it's the best flat iron I've ever used. I just bought a thinner Solia model that was $55 shipped (they were having a 20% off sale, not sure if it's still going on).

Folica.com also includes a carrying case, which I think has helped with my iron's long life. I always put it away in the case when I'm done. I don't even have to wait for it to cool down.

Here it is. It's $80 but you can get 20% off with the code topten20.

They also have the 1-3/4 inch version on sale for $60 with free shipping.
