Stupid TK eat my OP...F/U Dream Job

I got a letter yesterday from the Law Director at Dream Job, they have suspended the search for the Assistant Law Director position for now. If or when they resume the search, my application will still active. It was a simple form letter, signed by the Law Director. However, in the lower corner of the letter the Law Director hand wrote a note to me, saying that he was sorry that the timing for this position did not work out, but that he hopes to met me soon, and signed it again more informally.

I'm of course bummed that I will not be working there any time in the near future (it seems), but I'm focusing on the fact that it's not b/c I'm unqualified. I think the note the wrote is a good sign that my references are talking me up and that I'm some how 'memorable'.

So, I think I'm going to write a note back to the LD, mentioning that I have a strong desire to work for the city, and for him to please consider me for any openings that the law department might have in the future. What do you ladies think? (also, any lolcats you may be able to provide would be helpful)

Definitely send a follow up note and ask him to consider you for any other openings. Even if it's not Dream Job, a foot in the door in great and a lateral move within the company/department/city is always easier than hiring from outside. Good Luck!!!
