S/O: Setting up the boyfriend on a "date"

So I've met a couple people in Colorado now- I met up with an old high school friend and Allusive. Both were really fun.

Afterwards, I asked Andrew what he thought of my high school girlfriend's husband- and when I came home from hanging out with Allusive- I told him a couple things about her BF.

Both times he was like, "Ha- are you trying to set me up with these guys?"

And the answer is yes...totally. It would be awesome to have couple friends! In fact, it would just be awesome for Andrew to have some friends out here, period. What do you think?

Have you ever done this before? Or wanted to?

It reminds me of Chris Rock's standup, about how wives are always trying to get their husbands to make friends. "They put you in a room with another married man, and go, 'Honey...he likes baseball, just like you.' Like a grown man playdate. So now you're sitting there with this stranger going, 'I like baseball.' 'I like baseball too!'" Then he goes, "Honey, who the f*ck is this? If you want to help me out, introduce me to a girl!"

It'd be great to have couple friends. It hasn't worked for us yet, but it'd be nice.

We have a few couple friends. It seems to be the opposite for us, it's usually FI's buddy and wife. FI and I usually will hang out with his boss and her husband. I told him yesterday that our best couple friend's are older than our parents.

I have done this.  We have a few couple friends, though sadly we have out lasted a few of them. :(  I really like couple friends, it makes life a little easier sometimes :)

Yes, I have definitely done this. Once I meet a woman that I become friends with, the very next thing I want to do is introduce their SO to my BF! We've actually had some successful 'dates' in the past year and have a couple new sets of friends. Ironically, one of them we actually met the guy first, then he introduced us to his then FI/now wife and we all get along great.

Making friends as adults is hard. Especially for us, because we are 35/36 and don't have kids. Lots of the friends we've had the longest have kids, so their lives are just a lot different (and we find that they rarely, if ever, make the effort to connect with us) so we're super-psyched that we now have 3-4 couples that are childless that we can hang with!

SHUT UP!!!  I just did this saturday night for my FI!  One of my very dear friends from my old job has the funniest husband so I set up a dinner.  Guess what, the guys went golfing sunday and are going again on sat.  My FI even said, "If this keeps up, he may just end up in our wedding party!!"  Total success!!!!!

I;ve never set the SO up, we have mutual friends in common most of whom are already couples, so I've never felt the need to introduce him to friends.
He's met some of my theater friends and hung out with them but those are few and far between.

    Anniversary
