I think using Future FI or Futher DH is silly, it doesn't anger me or anything I just kinda roll my eyes.  Future FI = BF, Future DH = FI.  I mean, FI and I knew we were getting engaged soon we talked and talked and talked about it, many of the girls on here are in a similar situation... still he's your BF until he's officially your FI and your FI until he's officially your DH.

I do like it when FI calls me Futre wife or Future Mrs. ___ though... it kinda melts my heart.

I think its cute when we say these things to each other... but I think it would be a little silly to say them to someone else still.  I felt the same way before we got engaged he woudl tell me these things then and I liked it.  BUT when he talked about them to others or told them we were getting married next year I even thought it was a little BSC and told him to back up!

So I get called to a meeting and this thread took off!!lol

What I meant by n00bs was people that don't post regularly/aren't around a lot.  I feel like I know about GPB, Shoes, Angie and such...I'm just saying like new new n00bs.

But moving on, future what-ever bugs me.  It doesn't infuriate me (unless you say future fiancé...that's kind of weird to me) but it's like well should I have been calling FI my future baby daddy for the past 4 years? 'Cause I know we're havin' kids, and I know he'll be the baby daddy but we're not there...yeah...anyways.

I also don't get the future stuff. Are you a fortune teller? One of BF's friends has been engaged twice and then broke up, so FH would not have been true in that case.

I feel kinda yucky today...got up at 4:45am to fly to Seattle. (I usually don't get up until 7:30.)  I'm now holed up in a conference room "preparing" for my presentation at noon.

Hi! I'm Penny and I'm a noob! I lurked for about 2 months then I made an account and I watied a few days to post. I have been posting for maybe a week or two. I have been with my BF for five and a half years now and we will be moving in together in December.

I made some awesome drunken watermellon this weekend for a picnic. It was a huge hit and it was all gone within an hour and a half.

Hi Penny, drunken watermellon... is that the one where you put a hole in it and let a bottle of vodka drain and soak into it overnight or something like that?  If yes then yummy, if not please elaborate!

I am just trying to get through this next week then I am off for a week and a half from work.  We are not going away but we are going to some fun concerts and then going away for the weekend of august 27-29th for a little get away down at the jersery shore.  And no I am not like Snookie and my BF is not a fist pumper!

I tried the cut a hole in the watermellon and pour once. The next day I cut the watermellon in the sink and a lot of the liquor went down the drain. I do it this way so there is less waste.

    1. cut the watermellon in half
    2. I mellon ball the watermellon but you could just cut it up if you wanted to.
    3. put it in a bowl and add all the liquor you want
    4. let it sit in the fridge overnight
    5. the next morning I cleaned up the rind and I poured the contents of the bowl into the rind. (I do it this way because it looks cute and I don't have to worry about getting my bowl back if I take it somewhere)

This is a great way to get rid of old liquor that you don't like. I have a few bottles of Tortuga rum that I bought in Grand Cayman and I used that I don't like. The watermellon makes it taste a lot better!

By definition, "regs" is short for "regulars" thus anyone who posts regularly (and probably for an extended period of time).

I like desertsun's title of "Old Guard".  There's definitely some girls who have been around a lot longer than most, and they're in a category of their own because of that.  But for girls who have been here for awhile and post regularly are also "regs" in my mind.  Isn't that just logical?

Not to totally change the subject but this girl I work with is so annoying!!!!  I declined her wedding invite and now she keeps on making remarks to me about it trying to make me feel bad.

I hate obnoxious people.  Which is why I declined in the first place.  Why should I go to a wedding that I am going to dredd?  rIght?

I've never had it served that way, but I remember one superbowl party we went to where they had jungle juice (fruit juice, lots of everclear and fruit chunks).  My friend was supposed to be driving, so she figured instead of drinking that she'd just eat the fruit....she ended up being the most wasted of everyone.  The fruit holds a lot more liquor than you think. I had the strangest feeling of Deja Vu just now reading this thread.  Really really wacky.  Anyways I've been a member of Knot for a while, when I was helping a friend plan her wedding like three years back.  Had to sign up with a new account cause my S/N was too personal.  I've lurked around the boards and I chime in now and then.  I mostly like to read a thread here and there.  I live with my BF and there is talk of marriage, BUT its still off in the future.  I skimmed the whole convo about future FI and so on, though me and my BF don't do that, he sometimes calls me Mrs. Damgaard when its time for bed...  like "Mrs. Damgaard are you coming to bed?" that's when I poke my head in the door and smirk at him.  Howdy everyone, hope you're having a happy hump day.

    On the watermelon topic..

Back when I lived in residence for first year of university, I had two friends that lived with 2 other random girls as their roommates. The roommates decided to try and make the watermelon with vodka, so they filled it up and left it out to sit overnight.

Somehow, in the middle of the night, it completely collapsed. I think the watermelon may  have been a bit rotten too... so they were left with a stain on their carpet and it smelled TERRIBLE. Like rotting fruit and alcohol, blech! The two girls who made it didn't even end up cleaning it up, they just left it and went to class so my friend (who doesn't even drink) ended up cleaning it all up.

    Good times...

That's cute. My BF snickered when we got our snowboard passes last year. He paid for both, and the lady at the counter asked for my first name, then said "Same address?" I said yes. She never asked for my last name, just first. Then she hands me the pass with my first name and BF's last name. He thought it was hilarious.  He knows I don't want to change my name and for some reason just thinks its funny when I get stuff with his last name. He even tried to get his friends to send their wedding invite to us as his_first_name & my_first_name his_last_name.

    I'll join in with a his-last-name story.

BF and I went camping with his family after we had been together for two months.  We walked into the gatehouse holding hands and the girl there asked for our names.  He gave his name first, so the girl typed it into the form then turned to me and asked if I had the same last name.  Just what you want somebody to ask your recently-18-year-old boyfriend.
