YAY!

I would just like to share that after getting three hours of sleep every night since thursday, missing most of my classes in the last week of school I have FINALLY finished extracting DNA from my samples which had to be mailed today. Unfortunetly they were delayed on their voyage from Norway to Washington because of the random volcano in iceland.

Random I know, but I was just excited and felt like sharing. No point to this really.

Does anyone have any other exciting news at the end of another school year?

Oh and I just found out I don't have to take my statistics final.

Ok im done.

I say the best news out of that is not having to take a stats final. I hated stats! Almost as much as I hated economics.

I just finished my term paper for my research, and now that it's done, my presentation should get thrown together pretty quickly. I present a week from today.

I would have much rather been extracting DNA the last few weeks instead of running the PSWM from h-e-double hockey sticks. Grrrr.

I didn't have to take my stats final either, when I took stats, but there were other circumstances involved...I was not complaining though. I have to take all my finals this semester, but I don't really care because I'm graduating!!! Woo!!

Indeed!! Ready to move on with life.

Also, you can get minors in grad school? Is it possble they meant a secondary emphasis?
  • edited December 2011
They call them minors...buts its basically a secondary empahsis, its only 15 credits but you have to form a secondary committee of sorts to "guide" you

Lame. I am a lowly undergrad, but from working with the grad students in my lab and on the floor in general (the department is pretty close-knit), I know dealing with one grad committee can be frustrating enough.

Tell me about it! I am doing a genetics project and one of the people on my committee is a behaviorist (I am studying the genetics of aggressive behavior in pigs) and all she does is argue that its an environmental thing not a genetics thing....but Im stuck with her

I recently found out that if I teach for a public university or a non-profit private university after getting my Ph.D., I not only qualify for income-based loan repayment, but the govt. will wipe out my balance after 10 years. Thank you Jesus. lol

Sounds like an excellent deal to me, Oceana.
