Opinions please? PIP

Sorry I have been MIA lately. It's that time of the semester, and with teaching 7 courses, I never know if I'm coming or going!

We ordered STDs this weekend. Here is the sample from online.

But, here is my question. We are looking at invites. Our wedding is going to be a pretty formal affair. We believe that the invite sets the tone for the wedding. We both go by nicknames. We used the nickname on our STDs. When it comes to the invite, we will obviously be using our given names. We found an invite that we could actually use both names on it (the top names would be nicknames). Will this look too informal? Here is a picture of it.

The border and font of the invites will keep the nicknames at the top from looking informal.  I love the idea of putting nicknames at the top, it's a great way to add personality to the invites.

I don't think it looks informal at all. I say use them :)

I think unless your nicknames are Sissy and Bubba, I think it will be fine.

I agree with Narwhal.  I'm making the assumption that by nickname, you mean that you use a shortened version of your real name (like Beth to Elizabeth or something).  It won't look informal.  To me it seems like the same thing as decorating the invitation with your monogram.

Yeah, I go by Rocki... He goes by Chip... Mine is shortened name. His is because he is in a long line of males with the same name :) We joke that we'll have a Pebbles or a Boulder for a child.
