Wedding Nightmares

Okay so I've been waiting for these to happen.  But apparently I prepped myself enough that I knew how to react...in dreamland!

Dream:
We're at our wedding reception.  It's me, FBD, my fam/his fam and our bridal party.  That's it.  No one else showed.  We're in a big ugly hall with no decor and it's all gray.  There's no table cloths, no centerpieces, NOTHING.  I'm freaking out because no one is around, it's ugly as all hellll and nothing is going well.

And then I stopped.  I looked around the room and said "This isn't the Atlantica!(our venue)"  And I looked around some more and said "This isn't my wedding! THIS IS A DREAM!!!"  Kim (MOH) tried to argue with me that it must be real but I was like "Nope.  This is a dream.  My wedding will be beautiful and this is shiiity."  Then she agreed with me...and I woke up.

RANDOMMMMM! Anyone else having weird dreams lately?

FI and I both had our first wedding nightmares two nights ago (weird coincidence, no?).  Mine was that we were having our ceremony on a grassy rooftop in the middle of summer.  The only way we could afford the place was to let a random friend of mine film an "arty" video there, so half the guests were in weird costumes.  My mom got mad at me for something and was refusing to be in pictures or talk to me.  I started crying and telling her that I hated her.... and then I woke up.  Very weird.

FI dreamed that a bunch of his friends who we can't afford to invite crashed the dinner and we couldn't afford to feed them (or fit them in the restaurant)

My first wedding nightmares were the worst and actually got better the closer I got to the wedding. I would have expected the opposite. I have had dreams after the wedding that it is still before or during the wedding. My "favorite" wedding nightmare was the first one. When the ceremony was supposed to be happening I was selling raffle tickets to the guests and the ceremony never ended up happening and everyone left to go to the reception. When everyone was leaving I realized that we had no pictures because the photographer never showed up.

I had one several weeks ago - don't remember all the details now, but the wedding was taking place in a barn.  Not even a barn like they have in barn dances, this was a working barn with animals all around, hay and dirt all over the ground. I was wearing this very old-fashioned Little House on the Prairie dress that was about 5 sizes too big for me.  I saw FI (he didn't see me), but I didn't recognize anyone else.  Everyone was just milling around and wouldn't sit down for the ceremony to start.  I was peering around the edge of one of the stalls trying to get someone's attention and then I woke up.

I havent had the wedding nightmares yet, but I did have an engaement ring fiaso night mare...

My ring is the ring that my dad gave my mom, and my BF knows that is the ring that I want and he is more than okay with that and so is my mom.  I dreamed that we were in Idaho visiting, and he decided to propose, but the ring was wrong it was nothing like my mom's but it was pretty and I liked it.  Then I went and showed it to my cousin, and he was like Oh Steve got that from the vending machine yesterday then painted it.... i started crying, it was just so weird, and then in my dream Steve was like oh I didnt think you would notice, as the silver paint is fallin off.....

Needless to say I told Steve and he has agreed to not even tease me about 25 cent rings...

Ha ha! Katie your dream/nightmare kind of makes me laugh because I know a Steve who decided he wanted to propose to his GF (now wife) but didn't have a ring so he went to the vending machine and propsed with a $.25 ring (which was a $ symbol), which he soon replaced with a "real" ring and re-proposed - (i think, maybe).

I have had a couple over the last few months.  The first one was before we got engaged.  I dreamt that FI proposed with this tiny yellow gold band (I hate yellow gold) and it had a tiny speck of a diamond in it.  And FI knew that I wanted a bigger diamond so he got me TWO OF THE SAME RING!  I looked at him like, really? REALLY?  Then I woke up.

And then about a month ago I had a dream (the day after I was doing a preliminary wedding day schedule) and I dreamt that I arrived at the church and FI was at the altar all ready to go, guests were seated, music was playing, and I was in my pjs.  And I looked at my MOH and was like, can you stall for an hour or so??  I need to shower and do my hair and do my makeup and do my nails and get dressed!  She said no, so I got married as is.  And then I woke up.

I had a couple proposal dreams before we got engaged but haven't had a wedding dream yet. This is very strange because I have really vivid dreams and remember a lot of them. I've been really preoccupied by work lately and have tons of work nightmares but no wedding dreams.

I had proposal dreams before we got engaged too, unfortunately, mine sort of came true.  I had a dream that my parents spent all my wedding money to fix up some stupid boat, I got mad at them and just eloped in Hawaii and didn't invite them.  Then I had another dream where they threw FI and I a 'surprise' wedding on their friend's houseboat and it was ugly colors and they spent like $300 so that they could pocket the rest of my wedding money.

Then of course it turned out that my dad actually was spending my wedding money on beer and cigarettes.  I hope any future wedding nightmares don't turn out to be true...

I had a wedding nightmare last night, it's been a while since I've had one..

Only 10-12 people showed up and it was at some rec hall, but we still had our tables from our actual reception. Our tables are supposed to brushed metal on top, but for some reason, we had all rectangle tables set up in long lines and they were covered with the cheapie plastic tablecloths. They still had the runners I bought for them, but they had all primary color underlies. All the flowers were wilted as well. Then everyone left b\c we had no entertainment. I was crying and freaking out, THEN the band showed up claiming they didn't need to go on until 10pm. I freaked out and yelled that the wedding was ending at 9pm. Then Tiger Woods was at the roast of Barbara Walters across the mall (?).

So I went to work and we were slammed, and someone brought in a food tray, so I took the food tray, went back to the band and beat someone with it.

There was also a broken pipe somewhere.

    And there you go.
