AW: Our first wedding checks!

We officially decided on the date tonight and booked our venue and photographer!! Wooo!!!

We're getting married in my family's church in the city, then having the reception a few blocks away in an art gallery:





Has anyone else gotten stuff checked off their to-do lists recently?

That's a gorgeous space!  Congratulations!!!

We set a budget.  That's it.  And we have a set amount we're hoping my parents can contribute.  And a general locality.  But we have a while to think about it

Yeah we're really happy about it too :) It was one of those things where the first time we walked into it we were just like oooo!!! Yess! It just felt right.

You have plenty of time, you don't need to worry about checks yet :)

Yay! It looks gorgeous.

When I read the title, I thought it meant checks from like the bank. I was going to say, we just got our wedding checks also! LOL... Wrong kind of checks. Hehe

I thought the same thing as Ember. Hahaha. All I have is the date, the budget, I need to sign the contract for our venue and put down the deposit. I have narrowed it down to two wedding coordinators. Next is the officiant and the photographer. If anyone wants to check out my venue google Olowalu Plantation House in Maui. Congrats Mookow! Keep checking them off.

Looks wonderful! Out of curiousity, do they give you a heads up as to what the exhibit will be during your reception or is it the same collection?

We've figured out our budget, date, caterer and rentals for our venue. I'm in the midst of narrowing down our photographers right now though. FI gave his approval to 5 different ones.

It is a rotating collection, but we get to have a say in what is up the day of our reception. -Like if there's nude paintings or sculptures we'll have them taken down, or if there's other things we don't like or don't fit we can have them put away.

How awesome!  Congrats on such big checks!  I can't wait to see how the rest of it turns out.

We've set a budget, got my half of the guest list done (he's finalizing his... slowly... and keeps verbally inviting his classmates which I've told him he needs to stop doing until he's finished his guest list so we KNOW they're on there!).  We've booked the venue, and we're about to book the photographer.  I'm still torn between the two and it's actually stressing me out a bit, but hopefully soon we'll have a decision!

Ember - what is a wedding check? Do you mean the checks with yours and your SO's name on them?
