Vendor Advice

My wedding planner recommended this hair/make-up artist who will travel to location and does great work. I e-mailed her, she e-mailed back and was very nice and asked for my wedding information and a head count. I e-mailed her back and never heard from her again.

I told my WP and she e-mailed the hair stylist who e-mailed me again, apologizing and said that she would have her assistant e-mail me asking for my information and head count again.

What a surprise, it's been a week with no e-mail.

Normally I would say screw it and get a new vendor, but I'm extremely limited with options for what I want. What should I do?

Re: Vendor Advice

  • Try your best to find a new vendor. You don't want to be dealing with a lack of communication when it gets super close to the wedding and you are in crunch time.

  • Hmmm... I'd start looking for hair/makeup in that area. Do you think you could take a little trip there before the wedding to do a trial?

On another note, I'm looking for a day of planner and they seem very expensive. Would you PM me how much your wedding planner is charging you?

We planned on it, but FI has to go OOT a lot in the next few months so it's not going to work out :(

    And yep, PM coming.

  • Jaycee - is this MUA on weddingwire.com? Any other websites where you can find impartial reviews? If not, then I'd say move on to someone else. Not responding once is one thing (My DJ always seems to need two emails before he responds), but if you are this far out and already uncomfortable with her, you're better off finding someone you trust.

Thanks! And in that case, I'd take Liv's advice!

  • I'd be trying to find another vendor.  I can't stand when a business doesn't respond to my communications - it just tells me that I'm not an important customer.

No she's not :( The other name the WP gave me is on there, and they have great reviews..but they never responded AT ALL. The WP said in her experience the MUA/HS people are really bad at responding for some reason.

I feel stuck though because I can't find any others who do airbrush, on-site, and are close enough. Blah

  • Yep, new vendor. Remember they are working for you. If they aren't willing to work, then why would hire them.
