GAHH! Today is my Friday and it couldn't have come sooner. I work with some of the "finest" and I just had a repair guy come out and charge us $90 to remove a paper clip from the time stamper. Today has been one big facepalm after another..and it's only 10am.

On the upside- I just did my online check in and I will be on my way to Boston at this time tomorrow..YAY

EDIT: i just watched the video and it made me feel a bit better. I bought these shoes the other day and they should be at my door when I get home today! They look super comfy and hopefully I can wear them this weekend.

I find this funny because BF and I were having a talk the other day about how it's so strange to be from a place that people come to visit. Like I can't see people being like "Oh hey, let's go to Boston!" I have lived here my whole life and have never found it to be so exciting. I don't really know how to explain it. BF then explained that people who are from places that we find exciting (ex. Vegas or Florida) most likely feel the same way about where they are from.

(Please excuse if this makes no sense at all, I'm still half asleep and can feel a cold coming on.)

I totally get it!! We're not a "hot" destination or anything here in Halifax but we're the biggest city in Atlantic Canada so we have tourists EVERYWHERE.  It's a weird feeling to be surrounded by tourist and be like "Uh...we're not that great, ya know?"  But obviously someone likes our cities.  lol

I think the same thing about Vegas and that. I guess FI had a ton of people come in for the Eminem/JayZ concert and I thought "WTF, why would they choose Detroit over NYC?!" I don't even like going downtown so I didn't think other people would either.

My BF is sort of like that about California. For example, the weatehr is amazing in California. Oh, it's too hot you have to leave during the summer and winter is pretty but then everything gets so dry and you have to deal with the fires. Or, talking about how beautiful houses and cities can be, then he mentions all the problems the state has.

Having been with him for awhile and met his family, I understand that California is a mess. However, from my little Canuck heart....it sure looks pretty and definitely more interesting.

Yep, exactly.  I technically still live in Vegas (I actually live on the border of Vegas & Henderson), but since I was little, I've always get people asking me what the Strip is like, etc.  I avoid the Strip unless I have to be there (ie, going to a charity event or playing tourist if someone comes to town).  My favorite question since I was little has always been "where do all the people who work in the casinos live?" - there are still people to this day who think Vegas is only the Strip and downtown.

eKath - today's my Friday, too.

I'm going to Disneyland, bitches!  =)

You also have to see the making of video for the IKEA commercial. I'm sure it's in several places, but this is where I first saw it: http://icanhascheezburger.com/2010/09/09/funny-pictures-video-kittehs-take-over-ikea/

I live in Miami, one of the biggest tourist hot spots anywhere.  And honestly, BF and I totally agree that we would NEVER come here on vacation.  There are way better beaches!  If you're not into the club scene (and dropping thousands of dollars a night on bottle service, or being cool with standing in line for 2 hours to pay someone $20 to get in) then it's pretty boring.

You want beach?  Go to Newport, RI in the summer, Puerto Rico or Mexico or just about anywhere in Central America during the winter.  Skip Miami.  The sand is man-made crushed stones, the water's polluted and full of gasoline from the cruise ships, and you'll spend $100 on two cesar salads and soda for lunch.

I feel that way about the Mall of America. Most people that I know avoid the MOA at all costs.

Ahhh I work at a museum and the curse ship visitors have been nuts lately, and so many people are excited to be here, and even the museum in particular. Neither halifax or the museum seem like there anything special to me most of the time, and we don't even have any really exciting exhibits right now but people seem to love it.

But as for hump day... it's just day 2 of 6 for me :(
