a little bummed...

Today's my first full day moved into my new apartment in MA. BF stayed over last night which was wonderful and we went grocery shopping with my roommate. BF and I started making chili before he had to leave for the evening, it was really nice.

Now I'm sort of bummed. My chili didn't come out as well as I had hoped. I'm all alone in the apartment (roomie and her BF are both at work). BF took my car because he was running late to the fitting so now I can't even go out (he'll be back around 10 or 11). I made a drink I thought might taste good but it tastes terrible (cran/lime seltzer and vodka). I'm still drinking it, slowly, lol.

I'm sort of homesick - not for my house necessarily, it's just weird to be in this new place. I don't know where stuff is yet or where stuff goes, I don't have a lot of my stuff yet (I just bought essentials, most of my movies and books are in NJ). I know I could spend this time job searching but I'm just feeling too crummy.

CN: I'm all alone in my new apartment feeling bummed out/lonely.
Anyone around? :)

Re: a little bummed...

  • I totally know how you feel. But don't worry it will get better :) *hugs*

And throw the drink that tastes terrible down the drain and make something that actually tastes decent!

  • Aw I'm sorry you're feeling a little down Kelly.

I agree with Beth, dump that drink & make something yummy!

I'm around. Not doing anything tonight. We'll see how long it takes FI to try to steal the computer from me though.

  • I'm around, watching Big Bang Theory with BF and bugging him about going to the mall.  I want a new shirt or something for my birthday outing.

  • Dump that drink, make yourself something with the vodka and something sweet. (Do you have either Soda, juice, or peach scnapps and tonic around?)

Run yourself a bath and walk around the house naked while you can.

    Make muffins.

    Put in a cheesy flick.

Or go for a walk in your new neighborhood. :)

Ha the problem is I have no alcohol that's mine in the house! I added some ice and lime syrup to the drink and it tastes a little better. I'm definitely getting wine tomorrow, preferrably in those 6 packs with the little bottles.

I watched Good Will Hunting yesterday - omg so much fabulousness. A guy I used to date brought it over and then never took it back after he stopped talking to me (seriously..) so I kept it as revenge, mwaha.

I might pop in one of my seasons of Sex and the City...do any of you have a fav season?

ETA: roomie's BF is home from work. I definitely may take a bath though, that's a great idea.

  • I've never really been into Sex and the City but it sounds like a good plan to cheer yourself up.

  • I like Nursey's ideas ;)   I am here for another couple of hours.

  • What is everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm looking forward to trying a bunch of new recipies soon and I love hearing about food.

  • There is pretty much nothing in my kitchen right now so I'm going to have to scrounge something up. I'm craving french toast so maybe I'll make that.

  • Hmm IDK what I am having.  I got a George Foreman grill for Christmas (IT's AWESOME) and I believe FI is going to grill steaks on it.  Yummy!  And I think I am having either green beans or zuchini.

  • You know someone is always around to cheer you up.  I often make dinner thinking it will taste fantastic and man do I fail.  The latest case was cucumber soup where I put too much dill and cayenne pepper.  Ugh. FI was a trooper and ate a whole bowl.  I couldn't get past 3 spoonfuls.

In due time you'll settle is just fine and things will pick up.
  • Nom French toast!
Also, I would LOVE a George Foreman grill or a Crock Pot. 90% of the dishes I make are sauteed in some way in my saucepan and then I just add pasta.

I put hot pepper in the chili instead of chili pepper so it tastes okay just not like chili, you know? It's my own fault. I always think I can change recipies before I know them well, lol.

Seems more practical than a massage ;)

ETA: BF is bringing me a bag of my favorite comfort food - Nacho Cheese Doritos - when he gets home since he has my car :) Nom nom nom

  • I swear I'll make awesome chil soon if it kills me! It'd be so awesome to be able to make it in the crock pot - have something all ready when I got home from work.

  • I had the BEST chili on my birthday and I've been dying to recreate it ever since. I'm so in love with spicy foods.
