Thintopia Ladies: Inspiration

So I was at my diet place last night and they had an interesting message on their white board that I thought i'd share:

Where will you be by...
Easter - 2 weeks (4 lbs. lighter)
Mother's Day - 7 weeks (14 lbs. lighter)
Memorial Day - 9 weeks (18 lbs. lighter)
4th of July - 14 weeks (28 lbs. lighter)

*The numbers in parenthesis are if you lost an average of 2 lbs./week.

All of our goals are different, but I thought it was an interesting way to visualize where you want to be in the short term. What on your calendar is motivating you to keep making good eating/work out choices on a daily basis?

Re: Thintopia Ladies: Inspiration

  • that's cool, allusive!

I usually only lose 0.5 to 1.0 lb a week, if I do well.  I'm on my last 5-10 vanity/toning up pounds, so ANY loss is a good week.  with that being said...

    Where will you be by...
    Easter - 2 weeks (1-3 lbs. lighter)
    Mother's Day - 7 weeks (6 lbs. lighter)
Memorial Day - 9 weeks (8 lbs. lighter)
**First Day of Summer, June 20 - 12 weeks (10 lbs lighter) - GOAL
    4th of July - 14 weeks (10 lbs. lighter) - MAINTAIN GOAL

I really hope that it goes faster than that, but with it being the last few pounds, I understand it may take a little longer.  it's extremely hard for me to lose weight quickly because I'm already at a small-ish weight and size.  sometimes I get discouraged when I see other ladies or my H lose in big numbers, but I need to be realistic with myself.  I don't want to diet, per se, but just live a healthier lifestyle on a more consistent basis and cut back on the emotional/stress eating.  so if it takes more than 9 weeks, then it just takes more than 9 weeks.  :)

    For me:

2 weeks - Easter with family that hasn't seem me since Christmas
    5 weeks - BF's graduation!
    7 weeks - Grandmother's 80th birthday (ENTIRE {26 people} family will be in town)
9 weeks - Memorial Day Weekend Picnic
    13 weeks - BF's Birthday
    14 weeks - 4th of July Weekend!

If I lost 2 lbs a week, I'd almost be at my goal by 4th of July weekend! I realize I might not make this target (it's a pretty aggressive goal) but it's something to keep in mind!!
  • Tarra:  I wouldn't call this outfit "dorky". I think it takes a lot of guts to wear something like this!! If I had to walk out of the house wearing something like this...you bet i'd be getting my butt to the gym! haha

  • uh, yeah.  definitely!  go Tarra!  :)

are you going to be doing WW, or just watching what you eat?  any particular exercise plan?

I'm not on WW, but I have Livestrong on my phone and I calculate my cals and exercise cals there.  I'm doing C25K as a goal (run/jog a 5K, no stops, by the end of summer... hopefully before!!) and Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, plus a few other things.  I also have some 10 minute bootcamp DVDs and a Pilates DVD.

I'm still looking for some kind of stretching/yoga for my tight muscles, if anyone has any suggestions...  30 minutes-ish or less.  ??

    You are my hero
  • Easter - 2 weeks  - I'd like to like what I see when I wear a dress (I HATE how i look in dresses - probably the reason behind why i never wear them)
Mother's Day - 7 weeks (14 lbs. lighter) I want my mom to comment on how I'm looking healthier
Memorial Day - 9 weeks (18 lbs. lighter) This would put me right where I would LOVE to be. I want to be under 120. BF thinks I"m nuts - but that was where I was happiest with my body and my health. I had so much energy and liked what I saw in the mirror
4th of July - 14 weeks - This is where I want to be toned - and have muscle definition that make people's heads turn and go "Daaaaaaamn, he has a hottie". Plus also - if I have a defined tummy - BF PROMISED he would buy me my boob job. *nods* Yes, I'm self conscious and vain enough that I want a boob job. I'm okay with it.

You are even more my hero. I haven't seen XIII-2 yet....How does it compare to XIII ??? I got stuck on a certain area, and haven't played it in forever....
  • I really like this idea. I tend to think further in advance (like, "oh, by October, when we go on vacation, I'll definitely weigh less") but, I think that kind of mindset is allowing me to slack off since my "goal" events are so far off. I really think I need to set some shorter term goals.

  • I was just thinking about a timeline like this today! It made me feel awesome. For the first couple of weeks I was losing 4-6 lbs a week, but now I am losing a healthy 2 lbs a week. I had one week where I just maintained but I kicked that in the ass.

Easter (2 weeks): I will be 4 lbs lighter, which will make me halfway towards my goal.

Mother's Day (7 weeks): I will be 14 lbs lighter and 196 lbs! That will make me under 200 and only 46 lbs away from my goal.

July 7th ::Vacation:: (15 weeks away): I will be 30 lbs lighter and 180 lbs! 30 lbs away from my goal

August 13th ::Vacation:: (20 weeks away): I will be 40 lbs lighter and 170 lbs... 20 lbs away from my goal.

August 27th ::My birthday:: (22 weeks away): 44 lbs lighter and 16 lbs away from my goal.

October 21 (30 weeks away): I should reach my goal of 150 lbs.
