Latisse? Yes or No?

So, I went for an eye exam.  While I was  there, I decided to ask for a prescription for Latisse.  I told my husband and  he thinks I shouldn't waste money on it.  So, would you try it?  Have you tried it?  It's pretty expensive.  It's $125 a bottle.  I read that if you use your own applicator brush,  you can get 2 months of medicine out of one bottle.  Here are my lashes now.  This is with 2 coats of mascara.  Also, excuse my eyes looking so wrinkly.  I was making a funny face in the photo.

That is a little pricey, but if you can afford it, go for it.

I would love for my lashes to be a little thicker, but I'll wait until they come out with something that doesn't potentially darken your irises.

I would pass, I heard of the side effects and I just think it isn't worth the risk.

I read that the iris darkening is very rare.  A lot of people do experience darkening of the eyelid though.

I would pass, your eyelashes look long and dark now as it is! I would kill for eyelashes like yours, mine are white blonde and short! Save the money and save yourself the side effects...

I think you have gorgeous long lashes as it is. But, if it is something you really want, and you can afford it, why not? How many months of application do you need?

I'm still doing research.  So, someone can correct me if I'm wrong.  According to the website, it takes 4 months to see the full result, then you go into maintenance.  If I used my own applicator, it would take 2 bottles to see the full results.  I don't know how much you need for maintenance.

Goldie, your eyes are beautiful! I wouldn't change them, but this is coming from a girl who's saving up for InvisAlign, so take it with a grain of salt :-)

Thank you and I will add that your lashes look fantastic with the coats of mascara.  I remember your post about red lipstick as well and you had such a pretty smile.  I think you are one fine lady.  :)

Side note the make up artist that did my make up for the e-shoot put fase eyelashes on me.  It was the weirdest feeling.  I felt like every time I blinked it would fan the air in front of my eyes.  Hahaha....

For the photo shoot they they were a strip and not a full strip just from the center of my eye lid to the outer edges.  I called them baby eyelashes.  The make up artist told me that if she were to do my day of wedding make up that she would use individual lashes.

I personally think your eyelashes look fine with just mascara. I'd say it's not worth the risk of side effects and expense if you can get such pretty lashes with just a couple coats of mascara, but that's just me.

I think you have awesome lashes, Goldie.

One of my coworkers used Latisse for about a month. She said her eyelashes were growing like crazy and it really worked, but she thought it was too expensive. She said her lashes started falling out after she stopped (if you ask me, she kept rubbing her eyes, which always make lashes come out). Her lashes went back to how they were before she used it.

Personally, the potential side effects (and cost) are too much for me.

I wouldn't do it because of the expense and side effects (and also because your eyes and eyelashes are beautiful the way they are!).  My eye doctor told me about how it can change your iris if you have blue eyes (from blue to brown).  This sounds crazy to me

So, I did some more research on Latisse.  Most people did report irritation.  I'm not sure that I'm willing to go through that, especially considering the money.

I'm jealous of your eyelashes! I have about half the eyelashes you do and they are all half blond! They are also longer in some areas than others and even with mascara they look wimpy. Yours are gorgeous!

Not even vaguely worth it, and I say this as a medical professional. I do not recommend the usage of a medication for vanity rather than the medical condition that it was designed for. Longer lashes are a side effect of bimatoprost, not the reason for bimatoprost's development.

This and this. One thing I would not want any possibly side effects for would be my eyes/sight. You're lashes look great like they are now!

I don't know if it can or not, I'm just assuming with it being so close to your eye, I wouldn't want to chance it.

Yes, it can. One of the big side effects is damage to the optical nerve.
