WSG PSA: MyFitnessPal - Have we talked about this?!

My sister told me I should get this app for my iPhone, so I did. It's free and awesome. It calculates how many calories you should eat daily, based on your height, weight, and goals. It tracks your progress as you go.

You can search for just about any food and tell it how many servings (down to the 1/8 fraction if you want), and it keeps track of calories. (Or you can quick add if you know the number of calories.)

I don't know if they have it for Android, but I assume so. You can also use their website:

I've been wanting to join WW online, but haven't been able to justify spending the money, so this is a great free substitute. Yayyy. Smile

I use it a lot, but not religiously. I have no religion, that's probably why...

Jen, we should be friends on there! I'm marleylikeair over there, too.

Also, I have no religion to speak of, either. Something in common!

    Added you, Marley!

I like the graphs and the report that tells you how much you gotta eat/work out to lose this many lbs. by this date.

I have to try this because I don't know if the 50 million lb challenge is really going to work. I really don't think 5 little meals a day is feasable for me. I prefer counting calories.

I use fitness pal too! I used it religiously over a three week time period, but I didn't loose any weight even eating at or below the 1280 calories it gives me a day and working out regularly :(

Now I am doing P90x. I'm still checking the calories, but not as well.

My favorite part of the app is that you can scan the barcodes and it puts all the info in like protein, fat etc. I use it on my Android phone. I don't remember what my name is on it.

    Added you back, jen!

Nik, I love the countdown in your sig. Pretty. :)

I'm glad we can all be here to support each other in our goals! I totally added a weight loss ticker, finally, BTW. I'm excited about it.

I use Spark People. It's a free website with trackers for food and exercise, but it also has a great community aspect, too. It has an Android app, but I don't think you can scan barcodes. You have to enter info manually from lables if it isn't already in the database. But almost everything I search for is already in there. They also have recipes, articles, etc. I'm a fan. :)

I used to use it daily, and my mom now uses it regularly (she has the app on her iPhone), but I've stopped using it since we started renovating the kitchen, as I have no stove, so food selections are few and far between. Once we get it back, though, I'll probably start using it again.
