Shampoo/Conditioner

For starters, I have super straight hair but A LOT of it.  I always used whatever was at the grocery store/Target -- just grabbed whatever looked fairly cheap (Pantene, Herbel Essences, Suave, whatever) and my hair always looked dull, frizzy, & overall bad.

On August 22nd (I know this because I got it from Sephora & they keep a record of my purchases through my account) I splurged & bought the 8oz bottles of Bumble & Bumble for $22 (shampoo) & $23 (conditioner).  This was somewhat of a trial because I had never spent that much on hair products before at all & wanted to see if it made any difference.

Well, it certainly did.  My hair has been amazing since I switched to B&B.  I just ran out of the shampoo yesterday so it lasted me exactly 7 weeks which isn't too bad, I don't think.

But with saving for the wedding & Christmas coming up I'm having a hard time allowing myself to continue splurging like this.  They have the super large 33.8oz bottles at Sephora for $56 but I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger. Obviously that would be more cost effective if I'm going to continue using it.

What type of hair do you have?
What kind of shampoo do you use?
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?
If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?

What type of hair do you have?
I have pretty wavy hair. It's EXTREMELY blonde naturally.
What kind of shampoo do you use?
I usually use cheap shampoo. Usually Herbal Essences. Conditioner I usually buy a  nicer brand just because my hair is usually pretty snarly. But, by nice, I don't mean $30/bottle...
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?
For shampoo, usually only like $4/bottle for the herbal essences one. Usually 10 or a little more for conditioner.
If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?
I don't think so. At this point, I just don't have the money to splurge. I've got too any bills to pay and tuition kills me. So, probably not.

What type of hair do you have? I have thin hair, a lot of it, but not enough of it to feel like I have thick hair. (Does that even make any sense?)What kind of shampoo do you use? Right now I'm using Suave shampoo/cond, I've already bought my replacements - Fructis. I tried it at my sister's and loved it. I switch brands after every bottle so that my hair doesn't get buildup. My faves are usually Suave and Pantene, but this Fructis one has promise. How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner? I used to just buy the $1 bottles of Suave, but now I will buy the $3-5 bottles of something else. Though I think it's totally ok to spend more. I just don't see a difference with my hair with more expensive shampoos. If you do, then I say go buy that $56 bottle! If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable? I would splurge but I need to know it works before I buy it. A few months ago I bought some shampoo/cond at my hair salon because they said it was what made my hair so awesome, but I hated it once I got it home. That one was about $20 for a 13 oz bottle. Totally not worth it in the end. It's still in the shower.

What type of hair do you have?
Very long, fine, and somewhat thin semi-wavy hair

What kind of shampoo do you use?
I have Pureology right now, but I don't like it. I do like the Pureology conditioner (in the purple bottle)

How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?
My stylist buys it for me. I pay about $30 for a 33oz bottle. The conditioner lasts about 9 months. I'm not sure how long the shampoo will last. I have to wash twice with it. I told my stylist I want to try something else next time.

If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?
Yes, within reason. I try to stay under $1 per ounce if possible.

What type of hair do you have?

Curly / Wavy and somewhat dry, but gets oily.
What kind of shampoo do you use?

Fructis Sleek & Shine. I need moisture but also don't want want anything weighing down my curls.
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?

I'm working on big bottles right now, that were probably $6 a piece.
If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?

Probably but I'd rather wait for it as a gift.

I spend about ~100 a month on hair products for my crazy hair.  :(  it sucks, but it works for me.  I've tried cutting back, but my curls revolt against it!

What type of hair do you have? My hair is super fine, but I have a lot of it. It's kinda wavy and overall lifeless.

What kind of shampoo do you use? Whatever is on sale at the supermarket drugstore (so usually Herbal Essences, Pantene, Dove, etc.). I have Sunsilk right now though and I absolutely hate it.
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner? I love getting it at a great bargain like $2, but usually it's more liky $4-6. I know it's still really cheap either way haha.
If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable? I wouldn't right now, because I'm a bit tight on cash, but when I have more money I want to start spending more on things like that.

I don't know if anyone knows the name Brig Van Osten (she was on a Bravo reality competition show called Shear Genius) but I got a chance to meet her and she was super sweet and nice; she actually recommended Bumble & Bumble to me (she loved my hair). Now I know it's really worth the money! =D

What type of hair do you have?
Curly, but my curls are fat, not skinny, like Shirley Temple. It's also fine, and can get dry.

What kind of shampoo do you use?
It's a special formula for curly hair called Ouida. It's a moisterizing shampoo, conditioner, detangler and "repairing gel" line made specifically for curly hair. It smells awesome and makes my hair look great. The detangler spray also works as a volumizer.

How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?
LOL it's kind of funny because my mother stocked up on this shampoo and conditioner before she got keratin and couldn't use it anymore, so she handed over her supply to me. I haven't actually bought any in about a year!

If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?
YES absolutely. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to treat myself to Bumble & Bumble when my Ouida supply runs out!

What type of hair do you have?
Fine/thin strands, not a lot of natural volume, natural dark/ash blonde and highlighted

What kind of shampoo do you use?
L'Oreal Professional, the imported salon line, usually Volume Expand but sometimes I vary it up
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?
About $20-25 per bottle of either, I usually don't buy both at once. I only use a small amount of shampoo at a time, and because it's so concentrated, it ends up lasting a long time. I go through a bottle of conditioner every few months.

If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable?
Well, last year I tried using less expensive products from the drugstore when I was economizing, but I hated my hair and didn't feel good. So basically, yes, I splurge. I also won't use any products with dimethicone in them as a rule. I also tend to blow dry my hair a lot for volume, so I need a good conditioner.

So interesting to see how different everyone's hair is!

I just read that the Sephora Friends & Family (20% off) starts next Thursday & I think I'm going to hold off & buy the B&B then.

I did some calculating & since the small bottles lasted me 7 weeks the large bottles should last me about 30 weeks.  I have to wash my hair everyday so honestly I don't think the cost is so bad, I won't have to stock up again until May!

What type of hair do you have?I have extremely fine hair, but a lot of it. I used to have it long, but I cut it short beginning of summer and I love it. It really helps to make my hair look fuller.
What kind of shampoo do you use?I use Aussie Volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I like it a lot and it smells good.
How much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?I usually buy a larger size for $10-13ish each.
If you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable? No. I've never been super into my hair. I don't style it at all and I don't spend any time on it so I would not spend even more on it.

What type of hair do you have?I have thin hair that is kind of frizzy and wavy a bitWhat kind of shampoo do you use?I use tresseme for shampoo and conditionerHow much do you usually spend on shampoo/conditioner?I buy the bigger bottles I think they are around 3/4 dollars eachIf you don't like your shampoo now would you splurge on something that made your hair look better & more manageable? Not really, I straighten my hair every day and I use a anti-frizz gel when I come out of the shower.  To me spending a lot of money on my hair isn't worth it when what I do now works fine.
