Back from Vacation....

Hi! Mark and I just got back from our cruise! I feel so out of the loop and I am reading all the posts to get caught up. How was everyone's Fourth? I hope all was well and everyone had a safe holiday.

Our trip went well, and had beautiful weather! Suprisingly, Jamaica and Grand Cayman were 12 degrees cooler than Oklahoma, so we enjoyed that. OH, and I finally tried a wine and liked it. Moscato. Aparently it is pretty cheap at the liquor stores around here. I have never been into wine, but REALLY liked the Moscato. Do any of you other ladies have any good "light" wine suggestions? I'm hoping there are other white wines that I could try and enjoy.

On July 3rd, our stop was in Grand Cayman. We had planned on going to shop and then go to the beach to rent a wave runner, lay out, etc. I put on a t-shirt and Soffee shorts and BF said, "How about you wear something a little nicer for this pretty town?" So, I changed into nicer shorts and a nicer top and we went out to shop. In one of the gift shops (which had an upstairs) he bought a "Grand Cayman" seashell photo frame while I was upstairs looking at t-shirts, which I later found out about. After shopping, we went to the beach and walked along the shore.

Then all of a sudden...

So...then of course we had to go to Margaritaville and have a drink...or four.

Anyways, just thought I would share. I didn't think it would happen this trip, but I am happy that it did. :)

    Congrats!

Moscato is a dessert wine, so it is pretty sweet. I'd recommend either Eiswein (ice wine) which is another dessert wine or a Riesling. If you come across multiple types of Rieslings and can't figure out which to get, Spätlese (late harvest) Rieslings tend to be sweeter.

No, Moscato is NOT a dessert wine.

    OP, congrats on your engagement!

Half right Muscato CAN be a dessert wine. :) Though officially they are not classified as a dessert wine. Why I decided to mention this is beyond me. Back to the subject at hand!

    Congrats on the engagement!
  • Congrats!

I just drank a bottle of Naked Grape Pinto Grigio. It was pretty cheap ($7 for the bottle) but it was really good and light. Even FI liked it, and he's not a white wine drinker at all.
  • Congrats, your ring is gorgeous!

True. But it is not typically a dessert wine.
