As a New Jersey resident, I am fervently against the show; it gives Jersey residents such a bad name, and only one person on that show is actually from Jersey! Especially since I vacation where they film it, and ever since the show came out, the boardwalk there is littered with "Jersey Shore" merch .... shirts that say GTL and Don't Make Me Snooki Punch You. There's even a stand that sells a "deep fried Snooki sandwich". I don't even know what that is, and I don't want to find out.

Dude, I think the whole cast are wastes of oxygen. It gives off the impression that all young adults are supposed to behave that way and that that behavior is somehow socially acceptable. I'm in my 20s and I don't act like a douche nozzle.

I'm with you - it boggles my mind, like "Really? I'm supposed to go out to the club baring all my skin and get drunk and just hook up with someone 'cause I'm bored?" I must have missed the memo. Bu for some reason, I can't stop watching - it's that bad. BF watched 90 seconds of it (he's never seen it before) and after watching just a small snippet, said, "I think I forgot my phone number."

Sorry, but this is trash to a whole other level.  I do not know how anyone can watch this show and not lose brain cells.

What annoys me most is that they're getting rewarded for acting like morons.  That dude "The Situation" is clearly off his rocker with an ego trip and doesn't need lots of money thrown at him.

I was pissed when they invaded Miami.  On principal, I stayed far away from Miami Beach the whole time they were filming.  Ugh!  It's bad enough seeing Kim Kardashian's ugly butt on the beach every other weekend, I have no desire to see crowds around those fugly morons.

I don't watch that show, or any of those other reality shows... real housewives, any dating shows or anything like survivor or amazing race either.  If it wasn't for facbook I would have no idea what GTL meant or that "the situation and snooki" were from that show.  I used to watch Real World and Road Rules back in the day, but never got into any other reality tv shows.  FI watches survivor and amazing race so I half watch them while reading or fiddling around on the laptop but they just don't interest me.

I only get 28 channels. The channel Jersey Shore is on is not one of them (I don't actually know what channel it is on, but I've never ever seen it on the guide). Oh darn.

Snooki I can (kind of) see, but there's a person called "the Situation?"  And what does GTL mean?  As you can see I'm an avid fan.

Oh no, wait.  I judge this show without having ever seen it and make fun of my BFF all. the. time. for wanting to watch it.  But then again, I avoid most reality TV.  As per the stereotype, FI and I watch a metric shitton of Law and Order.  :-)

Acro, I LOVE me some Law and Order!  CI and SVU (with Benson and Stabler) are my favorites.  If I'm reading a book or something while FI is watching sports or something that I don't like and he wants me to hang out with him he'll turn on Law and Order... works every time, haha. 

When my son was a little baby the intro music used to make his face light up... my ex used to think it was hilarious!

So they went to Florida?  Sadly, there are plenty more like them in Seaside Heights. 

I grew up in NJ...just outside NYC.  I watch the Real Housewives and feel guilty because they back up the stereotype I have of nouveau riche Jersey Italians and I also like to see if they wind up in my hometown (I've only seen two restaurants from my town on the show). 

I haven't watched MTV in years.  When they started getting into reality TV, the shows had messages.  Does anyone remember the original Real World?  It was fantastic.  Many of the castmates were talented people getting started in their fields.  Sure, there were fights and silly moments, but they also dealt with race, prejudice, and safe sex in a gritty, but realistic way.

Cut to the last time I watched the show when the cast fought constantly and lived in a casino.  It was terrible.

Oh well, I hope the cast puts their earnings into savings because I have a feeling their little stars aren't going to shine for too, too long.
