PSA: Mint.com

Mint.com rules. I'm finally seeing where all my money is going! It lets you sync up all your financial accounts in one place, set goals, keep track of everything, get realistic about budget, and have a delicious sense of control over your money. There's an iPhone app, too, but you need iOS 4.0 (which I don't have--boo).

I'm so excited about this that I'm chomping at the bit to get my taxes done. HA.

Oh god, I'm scared.  I know how I plan out my money, but yeahhhh... it'll be depressing to see what a large percentage of my income is going towards my teeth for the next few months!

I signed up, but I got really sketched out when it had me log in with my online credit card information. There doesn't seem much information about it online, but do you think it's legitimate? I desperately need something like this!

Alanna, I'm not too concerned, honestly. Is it really any more of a risk than online banking in general? I'm thinking not. I hope not, anyway, because this thing is awesome.

ETA: It also comes highly recommended by a good friend of mine who's been using it for months, as well as Real Simple Magazine.

I use it.  I works really well and I have never had any problems.  I really like it :)

I think Turbo tax was backing it up too.  I'm pretty good with my money but thinking about signing FI up for it.  He needs to see where his goes.

I looked at it once, but it doesn't work the same for Canadian banks. Seems like a good idea though.

I've been using Mint for almost two years now, it helps so much with budgeting and tips on savings and investing!  I use it to help figure out how much I need to pull aside to save for the wedding.  Awesome site.

Mana--I'm mad at Turbo Tax right now. It thinks I have more than 3 states to file in, so I can't proceed without downloading the desktop version. Really, it's just listing NY twice, and when I try to delete one, it deletes both! Yell

Anyway, glad to share and to know that some of you gals are already using the site! I'm obsessed. Haha.

Mint.com is legitimate. It's owned by Intuit (of TurboTax and Quicken fame).

I actually preferred Quicken Online, which was replaced by Mint.com. Mint still has a hard time learning categories (i.e. it insists Nob Hill is "mortgage and rent" when it's actually a grocery store).

I do use it, though. I like to look at the pie charts. It's also an easy way to get a snapshot of your total net worth.

I tried to sign up with Mint about a year ago but it doesn't work with my credit unions. We have our savings and checking account through one and my car loan through another and neither work. The only accounts showing up are my student loans and our mortgage. Yuck. I know how much we owe...
