Saw the kidney doctor today...

And horrible news.

Normal kidneys leave 0-30 protein in your urine. I hade 495. That's HORRIBLE. Pretty much my kidneys are not working right. So... now I get to have tons of fun: A bunch of blood work, I get to collect my urine for 24 hours in a gross jug thing, and get to get an ultrasound. Cool.

I am pretty upset and beside myself. I do not do well with health things... and this is serious. Luckily my mom drove up to be with me for the appointment, but after I got the news i was sobbing as we walked back into the doctor to get some more tests.

I need your vibes and prayers. I feel like this is going to be a long struggle figuring out what's going on with my body.

    *Hugs* I'm so sorry that you are going through this! I will keep you in my prayers and keep my fingers crossed that they find out what the problem is soon and that it isn't too serious!

    I'm so sorry Hope.  When are you having these tests done and when will you go back to the doctor for the results?

    Well I am doing that gross urine collection thingy this weekend. Then Monday I'll go back to turn it in. I'll do the bloodwork Monday too. Then on December 9th I have my ultra sound.

    I'm so sorry, Hope. Hopefully they'll get everything figured out with all of the tests you have coming up. It's nice that your mom was able to go with you. I'm not sure if my mom is coming with me on Tuesday or not yet. I won't find out anything there though; it's just a test.

    **hugs** I hate health stuff too, but once we get through all the tests and stuff, it should get easier because they'll know what to do to fix whatever's wrong. We're always here if you need to talk too!

    Did they talk about the possible causes? I've had to do the pee jug thing a couple times. The time it needed to be kept in the fridge- I put it in an insulated bag with ice packs and the other one with acid tablets I just put in a big bag. It didn't end up being as big of a deal as I thought it was going to be.

    He said it could be TONS of things. So until more testing happens, they have no idea.
    And yeah, I'm going to put the pee jug in a cooler with ice packs. There is NO way that thing is going near my food!!

I, too, dealt with this exact same thing, and, like Lunar, have collected 24-hour urine samples more often than I'd care to talk about (like....25+ times, and still doing it). It's not fun, but it's not the end of the world. Not to minimize what you're going through, just trying to reassure you.  Let me know if you want to talk about it. Big hugs.
