This better be worth it!

I just spent $300 on dirt for around my house. Once that is in place I'm going to spend about $400 on mulch. I know I need to do grading on one side of my house and I don't have the time to keep up with the weeding, so mulch it is. I really hope this is worth it.  However, I do know that once this is done then it is done.

What have you bought or had to buy recently that you didn't want to or felt was too much money?

FI bought a motorcycle on Wednesday. He says it's to learn on while his Harley is getting finished. It better make him an excellent rider for when his other one is done... AND he better sell it like he says he will.

The deductible on my insurance plus some left over hospital bills is something that I had to pay for recently. I was forced to go to the ER, because I was having chest pains, and no regular doctor or quick care would take me. The ER couldn't find anything wrong, and they said it was probably only inflamed cartilage in my chest walls. It was close to $1,000 to say nothing serious was wrong with me. That was money I had hoped to use for deposits and furniture for our new apartment when we move.

Anything having to do with my car. I spent $900 the first two months of the year on annoying repairs. Now I have a few oil leaks I've been driving around with. Not totally necessary to fix right away, but I am cringing at getting it done. This comes about a month after I had my air-conditioner "fixed" though I'm still convinced it's not working.

A lot of little things that don't really effect how the car drives or makes it unsafe, but I'm sick of repairing this d@mn thing this year.

Conference registration and assorted conference related purchases.
    Registration - $300.
    Flight - $149 (we have a $200 voucher)
Hotel Room - Until we find a fourth roommate...$357.98
    Banquet - $50 (probably)
Plus food and drinks (with Marley!!!) while I'm there.  And clothes beforehand...

Basically, I was going to save all this money for moving in August, and lo and behold, I got rejected for funding and BAM, summer savings to conference.  The resume building had better be worth it.

I constantly get BV. I have it again right now. I know it, but I do not want to go to the doctor. My obgyn books too far out, and it will be at least a week until I get in. So, looks like I'll have to go to urgent care. I don't like just any random urgent care doctor lookin' at me down there.

Getting bv is getting expensive since I always need to pay the $40 + the bv test + they always do a urine sample. + the perscription

[QUOTE]Taxes...they upped the self-employment tax and that blew. Vet bills...totally worth it to pay for Tucker's treatment for his kidney issues, but holy hell his vet bills cost more than my doctor bills and that is saying a lot. Postage...not really my expense, but we ran into an issue today where a client said they didn't receive a package (I don't really believe them but that is beside the point) so boss said send new one overnight. Overnight shipping for Saturday delivery cost $127.00 to ship from MA to TX. Ouch.

What's wrong with Tucker's kidneys? It's always sad when pets get sick. I have heard that you can buy pet insurance, though. The vet gave my mom a brochure about it when her dog got sick. I think it was about $9/month.
