Pantyhose.

Today is, unfortunately, a must-wear kind of day.

Not only are they itchy, uncomfortable and stupid. But, I get a run in them every time, within the first 3 wears - and at $5 a pop, that sucks a lot.

Suggestions? Empathy? Cures?

Spraying hairspray on the tear will keep it from getting bigger. Or a little dab of clear fingernail polish.

When I have to wear pantyhose, I get the cheap $1 ones at Wal-Mart. I don't remember what they're called, but they work just fine for whatever purpose I need them. I refuse to spend $5 on something that is uncomfortable and will wear out quickly.

I think I'm one of the few people that actually like to wear pantyhose. What kind of pantyhose do you buy that's itchy? The ones I get are Hanes Sheer Reflections and I've never had an itchy or uncomfortable pair and they rarely tear - they only started getting runs in them after I got engaged and my ring would catch on them. Putting hairspray or clear nail polish on a run will keep it from getting any worse

I don't if it's God's curses so much as man's curses.... But that is not the point, can you wear knee highs? And normally they itch if you are dry skinned, try putting on WAY too much lotion. And Wal-mart does have the $1 hose, they are in little easter egg things.

Does anyone else hate the word "panty?"

It just sounds weird to me.

Like "moist."

I forego wearing panty hose if possible. I usually just try to get by with extra lotion and a really good shave.

On the other hand, I like wearing tights with sweater dresses.

Yes. I have been TRYING to buy the "nicer" kinds of hose in fruitless hopes of them lasting longer. I might trying buying the thicker stocking kinds... hmmmm. I HATE wearing them, but it's just too cold not too anymore!

Hahaha, I USUALLY wear boots with wool socks to get around it, but heels + shorter skirt + boston = pantyhose today

Oooh I HATE pantyhose. I avoid them at all costs!

I have actually gotten some less itchy ones at the dollar store, believe that or not. And if you only spend $1 on them, who cares if they get a hole in them.

I will have to check out some $1 ones. The Walmart is too far, but I'm sure I could look at the Dollar store or something....

and I'm definitely going to look into the thicker tights.

Tights can be just as dressy, and are usually way warmer. Try Old Navy or Target for really cute, inexpensive ones!

I hate panty hose as well.

However, I`ve started buying thigh highs that stay up on their own (so, not quite the same as stockings). They are way more comfortable and if you get a tear you don`t have to throw out both, as long as you are a wee bit brand loyal. Plus BF loves them, esp with lace at the top.

I also despise nylons. I just refuse to wear them.

I miss Boston. I lived there for a few years. I really want to get back to visit.

I too prefer thigh highs and my BF loves them as well! I've never head of a guy liking "stockings" as he calls them. Glad to know he's not the only weirdo..kidding :)  I'm really not a fan of any of it, but I agree tights are the way to go!
