If you are vegan..

where do you get your recipes from? I'm not vegan, but I can't have any honey, dairy, and eggs. I also don't eat beans. I need ideas.

    Why Rae?
I eat lots of rice. grains/ pasta/ fish.  I could look up some recipes if you'd like.  I go to allrecipes.com a lot.  They have some good stuff.  I also have some really killer veg soups if you want.

My best friend is vegan (and a baker). She has a nifty blog where she posts recipes fairly often and links to other places with recipes. Mostly dinner stuff and occasionally some desserts/snacks. Want me to pm it to you?

Seitan (it's like a tofu-type of protein, like a meat substitute) and tofu. Tofu is good if you fry it up. http://vegweb.com/ has a lot of recipes and tips.

    This one is really amazing:

I usually add a little potato to make it a bit thicker.

Raven- Honey is a trigger for my migraines, I'm lactose intolerant, I also can't have lactose free cow's milk, so there is something else in there I can't have, and eggs make my stomach hurt/make me sick.  And I just don't like beans, it's a texture thing.

    Kelly- PM it to me.

GPB- What is the texture like of Seitan? Does it take on the flavor of things like tofu? I'll check out vegweb.

Actually, I just looked up seitan, and it's pretty much all gluten - Obviously no good if you have Celiac's.

    The Post Punk Kitchen! (Theppk.com)
    That website rocks.

Also, my first vegan cook book was "Skinny Bitch in the Kitch". It's great! Definitely check it out. It can't be too expensive...if I bought it when I was fifteen I'm sure it's pretty cheap. They have this hilarious tongue-in-cheek humor, but are serious when it comes to health and nutrition. You could also check out their book "Skinny Bitch" if you're interested in transitioning to a vegan diet.

I'm a vegetarian but I'm borderline vegan. I still eat things like cheez-its, milk chocolate, honey, and sometimes ice cream which are obviously not vegan.

Also, if you're into baking, I just found that 1tbs Flax Seed and 2tbs water is a substitute for eggs!

Good luck, and I hope I helped :)

VegWeb and PPK are both great suggestions. That's all I've got. :)
