So excited for this weekend!

So the BF just called me and asked if I wanted to take a short little 4 day vacation camping along the California coast this weekend!! He's taking Monday off from work so we can leave on Friday and not have to come home until Monday!

 Since Christmas, things have been crazy busy with tons of family coming in to town and visiting plus my school's winter intersession, we haven't had a weekend to our selves since before Christmas, so this should be awesome!

I just had to share because I'm super excited and can't wait for Friday!!

Anyone else doing anything fun and exciting this weekend??

Woohoo! That sounds so great!

No big plans for the weekend as yet. Maybe a Target trip. Have to work from home Sat and Sun in the evenings this weekend, boo.

Oooo awesome! I am moving back to school, so I'm excited about that! And into an apartment so I dont' need to live in the dorms anymore (a huge plus).  So I'll just be setting up my stuff and organizing everything, while missing Jeff.

That sounds like fun! I love camping.

K asked me to come visit this weekend. Very odd since we saw each other last weekend and we have plans to see each other next weekend. Who knows what he has planned. I've been super stressed this past week because I had a deadline for an article today and a deadline for a book chapter in 2 weeks. So, it'll be nice to get away for the weekend and not have to worry about writing for publications. He has school, so I'll have time to work on lesson plans. It's nice to get a little vacation away from home!

Ember- That sounds fun! Have fun!! I agree that it'll be nice to get away and relax! You said you'll be working on lesson plans... I'm assuming you're a teacher? What grade? I used to teach 1st grade but now I'm just subbing.

Our anniversary is this Friday, so BF and I are headed to Niagara Falls for a one night getaway. We're getting a couples massage Friday afternoon. I'm super excited. It's my first real massage!

Ahhh mini vacation!  I'm definitely jealous.

I'm going to my hometown to meet with my parents this weekend.  They don't know about my engagement yet.

I teach at the college level, and this semester I'm doing all 100 level courses. I teach communication. So, I'm that horrible professor that makes students do 4-5 speeches in a semester

I am so jealous! I want to go somewhere!!! I will probably be doing homework and I work Saturday. 

I might see my old best friend. She moved to VA and didn't tell me. I think she expects to be a BM too... she will probably come out and ask.. awkward.

Elle... Has it been really hard to keep the engagement a secret? I have too big of a mouth. I can't keep a secret so I don't think I could do that! That will be such an exciting weekend for you!

PolkaDot... I love teaching at the college level. I have substituted for the local schools and I think teachers who can deal with little kids all day are my heroes!

It hasn't been that hard at all, actually.  I've just resisted the temptation to update facebook, and that keeps me from getting questions, which keeps me quiet.

I did have one friend ask me straight up if we were engaged yet, and I didn't feel comfortable lying to her, but otherwise, you ladies are the only people who know.

Sea - I do most of the time.  I really haven't seen very many people since the engagement, so I haven't really had to hide it actively.  It's more of a matter of resisting the tempation to send a mass text.
