All-American Muslim TV Show

Have you seen this show? I'm 5 minutes in to the first episode I've ever seen. I'm fascinated. One of the "star" couples is a young man - who is a U.S. federal agent - and his pregnant wife. I think it's a riot that they're showing a Muslim who is a federal agent on national TV.

Take that, bigots and haters!

And adoption is very unusual in the Muslim culture. Who knew? I'm learning so much. TLC rocks.

So have you seen it? What do you think? Thumbs up or down?

    I want new shows:
    All-American Jew
    All-American Buddhist
    All-American Taoist

What others? I've learned almost as much about Islam in 15 minutes on TLC as I have in my whole life prior to this. Day-to-day life things... Fascinating.

Polk - Didn't get enough response from my last Solo Red Cup reference so decided I'd give it the old college try. And I took a vicodin today. Stupid broken foot.

I want to give All American Muslim a chance. Arabic Studies is a very potential minor for me, so it's definitely something I'd be interested in. However, the only episode I saw was when I was babysitting my 20 month old cousin. How do you knotties with babies ever watch TV?!

Um, I don't when he is awake.  And if it is just the two of us at home, then I don't go online until he is down for a nap.

I live fairly close to where the show is filmed so I've been meaning to watch it but I keep forgetting. My speech class was at a local college and we learned all sort of things about Islam that semester. It is fascinating.

I keep forgetting about that but every time I see a commercial for it I want to see it!

I saw the ad for this and want to see it. I'd say the extent of my knowledge of Islam is no pork, fasting for Ramadan, and Eid-al-Fitr. I had friends growing up who were not super-strict Muslim (e.g. the girls always wore long pants but never a head covering).

I've watched both episodes, and I think it's great. It's really interesting, and I've learned things about Islam that I didn't know before. Hopefully, it will do something to open people's eyes who might have some incorrect ideas about that culture.

I saw the commercials for this recently & was really intrigued but I didn't know it was on already.  Maybe it's on-demand??  Honestly, I don't know much about Islam & I would really like to know more.

I'm definitely finding the show interesting. My muslim friends are a lot like the fiesty ones on the show, so that certainly isn't a surprise to me.

I found the perspective on wearing the veil really interesting.

I want to be on All American Jew!!! They can follow my epic struggles while I deal with stupid questions like, "Do Jews celebrate Thanksgiving?" "What do Jews have instead of a Christmas tree?" "Do Jews believe in Santa?"

    *headdesk*

And YES these are all actual questions I have been asked.

I saw commercials for this show. I want to watch it but FI bitches every time I put on TLC. I'll have to wait to watch it on demand or something while he's at work on the weekends.
