AW: Our first wedding present!!

So my parents came into town this weekend and they gave us our first wedding present: a KitchenAid stand mixer!! My mom got a really good deal on it, and since the warranty is only good for one year she wanted to give it to us now. Here she is in all her beauty:

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! We've already used it and it is super fun. I can't wait to make bread with it!

Ohhh...congrats on your first present!  Kitchen Aid sdtand mixers are awesome.  I have it in red and I love it!

Funny mixer story: when BF and I moved in together (before we got engaged then broke off the engagement) he complained about how I rarely used mine and could probably do without it.  I kept the mixer, it was non-negotiable.

Sooooo Jealous! She is a beauty :)

That is the one thing BF knows I want as soon as we are in a house. If we don't buy it for ourselves it will be the first item on my someday registry! lol

Oh man! I love my KA Mixer. FI got it for me for my birthday 2 years ago and the sales person helping him kept saying "Are you sure you want to get her this for her birthday?" lol they obviously didn't get the obsession. I can't wait to use it this week to make my french silk pie and mashed potatoes.

What's the first think you're going to make with it?

Ooh that pie sounds amazing! Recipe?

We made pancakes with it Saturday morning, but I'm really anxious to make some bread with it. I'm trying to talk my mom into letting me make the bread for Thanksgiving dinner!

Omg sooooo jealous over here. I do a lot of baking and I'm still using a 90s hand mixer. Can't wait to build a registry.

I mix almost everything by hand too, unless a recipe specifically says to use the electric mixer for a few minutes and I'm not in the mood to whisk for 5 minutes.

I do a lot by hand, but I still end up resorting to the mixer more often than I would like. The damn thing is so old and beat up, though, that I'm not really sure it's any more efficient than a fork and elbow grease.

This is the base for my pie. I usually use two smaller oreo cookie crusts since I'm not a huge pie crust fan. The KA mixer helps tremendously since each egg is beaten for like 5 minutes.
