So FBD (that's right - I warned you that was his new nickname) and I were chatting about our future spawn last night.  What are your thoughts on spawn?

1) Do you have any kids now? Ages?

4) Are you amazing (or crazy) like me and have some names that you already like?Why yes, Paige, I am amazing and crazy.  Our first born boy will (probably) be named after my grandfather Robert Joseph (RJ for short).  I like Maddison (Maddie) for a girl.  But that's as amazing as I get;)
5) Timeline for having your spawn.Well FBD is a little older so we'd like to have kids within the next 5 ish years (before I'm 30 and before he's 34)
6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?Twins are pretty common in my family.  I kind of hope I have some...but then I also hope I don't because that would be crazy.

I want a lot (like 4 or 6) and so does BF, but my dad always tells us not to have a lot of kids.  He's one of 8 so I guess I can take his word for it.  I figure we'll figure that out as we go along.

Yes... I love August and Lilah, BF likes Josie.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.

Hopefully they'll be really close together.  Maybe start in about 4 years? Maybe 6. No real rush for offspring.

I have to many. Psych classes do terrible things to you.

I would be fine with 2 max, but FBD wants at least 2.

In the Jewish religion, it is custom to name your children after a deceased relative. The Hebrew name is the same (or a gender variation of the same name), and the English name uses the same initial. I would love to name my first child after my two deceased grandfathers whose names started with an M and an H. So for a boy, I like Matthew Hunter and for a girl I like Megan Hailey or Madison Hailey. FBD likes weird names and will not be allowed to name his own children. Ha.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.
It depends on when we get married, but I would like to be married a couple of years or so before we start having children. We'd also like to own a house.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?
My brother was named something entirely different when he was first born. My dad convinced my mom to name my brother this, and after a week or so, my mom realized she HATED it. So she had to change my brother's name and get him a new birth certificate.

We want 3. He always liked that he had two siblings and I always wanted one more. 4 would be the absolute max.

LOL...yes! We talk names all the time, its something we like to do when we are bored. For a boy Jake is the top runner right now. For a girl, he favorite is Ashlyn (which I hate) and my favorite is Aria (which he doesn't really like). We both agree that we like the name Claire though.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.
We would like to start trying about 3 years after we are married, so when I am 27. But we have also discussed that we would like to adopt at least one child and we will probably start looking into that around the same time because I know the adoption process takes time.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us
Ummm....its not really a fact but I think it would be cool to have twins. I doubt it will happen though because they aren't common in mine or BF's family.

Nope no real children now thank god. Nannying and teaching are enough at the moment. But my basset is a child in his own right so he's 3.

I've been all over the map with this but now I am definitely settled with the position of wanting to have kids. FBD changed my mind just by being himself.

3) How many? Do you and FI/BF/DH/FBD agree on this?
1 or 2 - we kind of agree; I said if we get a girl first we're stopping, he says no we have to have two. I am inclined to agree because ExH was an only child and totally weird (no offense to those who are!)

4) Are you amazing (or crazy) like me and have some names that you already like?
BSA and already have our FLS's (future little spawn) names picked out. Olivia Rose and Oliver Chase. -- I know Olivia is extremely popular but I love it and I love the matching names. Whatever FBD loves it too.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.
2-3 years. 10 months til the wedding, Licensure for me and working for a year then baby time. I'm more towards 3 years. FMIL timeline = walking down the aisle pregnant or a honeymoon baby. Thumbs down.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?
The middle name Chase is in honor of FBD's best friend that passed away 3 years ago this September in a bad accident. FBD had a hard time dealing because he was in the car and ended up getting out and getting another ride. I think the middle name is a great way to memoralize our friend.

I like Emilia. FI is focused on the fact taht the one child will automatically be a boy who will be named Jackson. I do not like the name Jack. So I don't really know...

Get married. Buy a bigger house. Get a dog. Future spawn. I.e. many years away.

I destined to give birth to a mammoth baby.

Absolutely!

We're shooting for two. We might renegotiate after that, but right now we do agree on two.

Yes. We both like Kara for a girl and Cade (DH's middle name) for a boy.

We'll probably start TTC shortly before I graduate college (about a year and a half). It may be sooner or later depending on life, you know.

I used to babysit a lot, and was a full-time nanny for a while. I loved it.

Also, I can do pretty much anything except bathe an infant. Something about them not being able to sit up and me trying to put them in water freaks me the heck out. All those little baby-bathing contraptions don't make me feel any more calm. I told Josh he may need to be the bathtime daddy... he said that sounds fine.

REALLY funny-- I actually really like water.

1) No, most definitely not.

2) Yes, although I'm scared I'm too selfish to be a good mom.

4) I like Noelle for a girl (not actually my first name... I'm not that self centered!). Boys, no idea. Middle names, probably something Indian. FI wants to give them all names that start with A, but that doesn't fit into my "Noelle" plans... hahaha.

5) At *least* three years.  We want to have plenty of "us" time after we're married, since we've been LDR for so long.  FI wants to wait 5 years, but I have an irrational fear of infertility problems.  (Eggs shrivel up at 30, right? Wait, they don't?)

6) I was almost named "Amy" or "Angela Nicole".  I can't see myself with either of those names. If I was a boy, I'd have been "Austin".  Anyone else have certain personality associations with specific names? I do, and none of those are good ones for me.

The we he speaks of is Jon, Mommy and him by the way and he yells this with absolute excitement!

I say 2-4 and FI says 2. I don't think I could handle having more than two under 3 years old though.

We have already decided on fiving the first girl/boy our middle names. Off hand, I like the names Luke and Lauren. I've always loved the name Kyle but FI doesn't want to have a jr and have to wonder which Kyle people are talking to

I would like to be married, out of school, have any debts paid off, and be financially stable enough for me to be a SAHM.  Part of me wants to wait a year or two after getting married and part of me doesn't. There's also little part inside of me that would love to have one now but I soon realize I'm crazy and that idea has BAD IDEA written all over it.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?
I would love to have twins. We have had a few sets of twins in my family so thats a plus for me.

Yes! Like GPB, I'm Jewish and she was correct, so no need to reiterate. My mother's father's name started with an I, so if I ever have a son he will be Isaac. Not just for the I, but because it means "laughter." His middle name will be David, which was my late father's name. I also adore the name Gabriel, but neither BF or I have a "G" in the family.

As for a girl, the letter S is very popular on my father's side of the family - my grandfather's parents both had "S" names, and my grandmother's mother had an "S" name. As a result, the letter S is used a lot.  So, I would like to name my daughter Shoshanna. That name comes from the character Shoshanna Dreyfus in the movie Inglorious Basterds. It is one of BF's and my favorite movies! Jury is still out on a girl's middle name.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.

Before I'm 40. Anything after that, I'm afraid of health risks.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?
If I ever reproduce, I would prefer a home birth. A friend of mine had one a year ago and said it was one of the best decisions she'd ever made. That and because I cannot stand hospitals.

Sort of.  Just like greenpepper our children have to have names that begin with the same letter as recently deceased close relative.  So we have J, I, H, and L -  We really want Jaqueline for a girl.  Boys we are not really sure about yet but I do like Issac and Luke

We'd like to start in about 3 years (so 2013).  Then an additional zygote would be 2-3 years after that.  We want our childern to be further apart in age than my bro and I (1 yr) and less than him and his bro (5 yrs).

I have no interesting facts except that until I see the baby by ultrasound I will probably call it my zygote because I a nerd.

My sister and I are 7 years apart.
My BIL and his sister are 7 years apart.

ETA: By the way, Isaac David roles of the tongue very easy when you're angry.  So a good name for a kid.

We both want 2.  I want one of each gender, and we've both talked about adoption as an option (as either an additional child or if we're unable to have children of our own). If I get two of the same gender, I might just adopt a third of the opposite gender!

4) Are you amazing (or crazy) like me and have some names that you already like?
FBD is a 3rd, and I told him there's no way in hell I'm having a 4th.  We think what we might do is combine my Dad's middle name and he and his father's middle name - James Henry.  For a girl, FBD has said he likes the name Julia. All my favorite names start with "M" but FBD's last name starts with "M" and I don't want my kid called an M&M growing up.

5) Timeline for having your spawn.
At least 5 years.  Gotta get settled in marriage and the military lifestyle before I introduce children to the mix.

6) Any interesting spawn related facts you'd like to tell us?
Twins also run in my family, and I sort of dread it. But if I do have twins, they'll never be dressed the same.

FI's grandfather (mom's dad) and my grandmother (dad's mom) died on the exact same day. We didn't really know eachother yet but I remember seeing the attendance sheet at school saying FI- grandfather's funeral and thinking about how that poor kid lost his grandparent too over the weekend.

I think we're both pretty set on having just one. Two if we're super stable, financially.

We talk about baby names all of the time... though mostly oddball names that we would never actually name a human child. My current  pick for a boy is Faustus... while his pick for a girl is River.

His entire family seems to produce only boys.
