:( I just saw this about 5 minutes ago - everyone is statusing on Facebook.

Canadian New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton just died not too long ago too. Sounds silly, but he made a huge and lasting impression on Canadians throughout the years, particularly in the last election when he won the NDP the role of Official Opposition.

It is sad - he was an innovator of the finest order. However, I am enjoying all of the Apple puns that people are making.

Oh wow. So again, cancer sucks. He fought to the bitter end. Amazing. Rest in peace. Ironic that iPhone 4s just released? Was he waiting for this?

I'm extremely sad about this and so is my family. We've always been a huge Mac family -- my parents bought the original Macintosh in 1984, so there was one in our house before I was even born. We had SE/30, Quadra, Performa, iMac, eMac, Powerbook, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iBook... we all have iPhones and iPods. I know that he was so sick, but it still kinda came out of left field for me.

It was a very sad day in Cupertino. The morning started with a shooting rampage, and the afternoon ended with the news of the passing of Steve Jobs. About 1/3 of my coworkers had worked at Apple at some point, so the news spread like wildfire.

I've heard a lot of stories about the man over the years. He was apparently a tough person to work for, but man, did he make some great products and knew how to market them. It's really the end of an era. RIP Steve.

the quickest killing cancer. It's so sad and he was so young for that. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

But just remember in the back of your heads, it doesn't matter how much money you have, or what possessions you have that you may think make you "important", cancer will take over who it wants, when it wants. You have to try to stay healthy and hope for the best. Money and possessions do not matter when it comes to health.

Again, RIP Steve. Thoughts and prayers for your family.
