"Face Off"

I feel like FI and I and our two friends were the only people who watched this show. It was a reality competition show on the SyFy channel for movie makeup and SFX artists. Like, they didn't find people off the street; every competitor was experienced in the industry (some more than others). Anyway, did anyone else watch? Last night was the season finale and I really want someone else to talk to about it!

Lyn, it was definitely an awesome show. It's always great to see people with serious skills get recognized for the hard work they do!

BTW, one of the show's judges was the woman who created Beetlejuice!

Ohhh bf put this show on the other night when I was trying to fall asleep. It sounded wicked interesting but I am more committed to sleep, than new shows.

It was the episode where the used makeup stuff to switch people to look like the opposite genders? or ages or something? Like I said, I was falling asleep to it...

My cousin went to a makeup artist school in Canada a couple years ago. She posted some very cool pictures of her assignments/projects on fb that I used to love to look at...

That was the gender swap episode! They used real engaged couples as models and they had to turn the bride into the groom and the groom into the bride! Hilarious challenge. My friends and I were rotfl-ing.

The entire season is probably up on hulu or the SyFy channel's website. It was a very short season, only 8 weeks I think.

    I watched it last night.

I was not impressed by Sam's makeup at all. Compared to the guys she didn't stand a chance in my opinion.

    YAY SKYLER! =D

I agree. Sam picked a hard one and she kind screwed herself. When she picked "psychedelic Little Mermaid", I couldn't even begin to envision what that would look like. I was pulling for Sam until I saw her final product.

However, we were all rooting for Tate or Gage nearly the entire competition. Tate's Little Red Riding Hood gatling gun was just too cool for school and Gage's characters totally creeped me out.

I thought she could have done so much better with her story. There was just so many cool things to do with a mermaid and a sea witch.

Gage's witch was super creepy. I mean with the jaw and that hands on the stomach. I also love the concept of the Gretel character but I feel like he put so much time into the witch that her face was a little sloppy.

I loved the little red riding hood with the gun and making the werewolf white was such a great idea. You would really see all the bullet holes and blood which would have been lost on a brown wolf. I can't believe he pulled off a werewolf suit in that time.

I do think that Conor did a clean job with this characters but I do not think they were as ambitious or as creative as the other guy's were. I did like the bladder for the frog's neck though and how he had the model work it. That was a good idea.
