To do or not to do

Five dryers in the community wash room and not a single one open. Do I empty the dryers that are done or keep waiting? I wish people would keep track of their times like I do.

I say wait a few and if no one shows then take it out and put it on top.  If they don't like it tough cookies - get your laundry outta my machine!

I remember when I was in an apt I always felt like this. I wanted to take their stuff out so bad but I always felt like I shouldn't touch their stuff.

Hopefully someone will come down and check their stuff soon.

When I lived in a building with laundry I used to give people 10 minutes after the drier cycle then I would take their laundry out and fold it. I felt like that made it okay. If I take it out and fold it for you, how can you be mad at me?

Give them 10 minutes, then take it out.  If it's a communal machine, they have to be considerate or else expect that their clothes might be moved.

    Meh. No mercy.

I put in on top of the machine if they don't take their stuff out on time. They are perfectly capable of keeping track.

    Don't do it!

What if they got in a car accident? Or stubbed their toe really bad and are writhing in pain on the floor?  Then they FINALLY make it down the stairs to get their laundry... and it's sprawled out.  Sad.

And yes, those are the kind of scenarios that first come to my mind.

By the way, if someone took out my laundry and folded it for me because I left it in the dryer too long, I totally would always "forget" about it.

    I abhor folding laundry.

All the sudden, I just pictured Betty White sprawled on her kitchen floor with a brokn toe, screaming, "BUT I HAVE TO GO SWITCH OUT MY LAUNDRY!!!!!"

When I had communal laundry rooms, I gave them 15 minutes, and then I took their stuff out. If it was wet stuff, I'd put it in my laundry basket and place the basket on top the washer so their stuff wouldn't get dirty. I'm sorry, but if it's a communal space, you need to have respect for the people using it, and rotate your stuff around in a timely fashion.

Bring your laundry over to my place. For some reason, I love to fold laundry.

Honestly, I would get a bit creeped out by someone else folding my laundry. But then, I didn't like the idea of strangers touching my clothes, period, so I always made sure to be there to change it around when I had a communal laundry area.

I'm so glad that since I moved in with BF that their was a laundry room in his house. One of my last apartments had a seperate laundry room for allthe apartments and someone decided to steal a bunch of my V.S. undies out of the dryer. After that I always went to one of those big laundromats with a book.

Who would steal underwear?! I think that is one item I would not want used.

FI's crazy aunt tried to sell a bunch of "slightly used" underwear on ebay once. I'm so glad we don't deal with that bunch.

I say both, a plain creep has no preference on brand of underwear. Panties are panties.

    Ewww, creeptastic!

I also like to do laundry... I love the smell of clothes fresh out of the dryer.  I don't like actually putting my clean clothes away after floding them though.
