OMG My dress is DONE and I still have 8 months...

I went in and tried on dresses back in August, and ordered a dress.  The sales lady told me that the dress would arrive in January.  I was fine because my wedding is in June.  BUT then I get a call today that my dress is done and arrived at the salon ready for final payment.  My first thought was what?!  Already!  Good thing they will hold onto the dress for e till my first fitting which won't be until like April of next year.  Hahaha.... but its crazy because it is another reminder to me that this is REAL.  I'm getting married!  Holy Cowballs.  I'm fighting the urge to stop by after work to see it. 

I asked the sales lady if I could come in January to try it on, so I can get an idea for shoes and accessories.  I'm so excited now, one more plus for my birthday weekend!

Just to make this thread more fun can you ladies post up your wedding dresses or styles you like?  I'm giving you a pass on the BSC.

I am going to Dallas next weekend to try dresses on with my mom.  I went shopping by myself, so I need someone else's opinions.  I really love this dress, though!  It is so romantic and elegant.

I ordered my dress last December and it came in January, so it's been sitting in my closet ever since.  Not gonna lie, I've put it on at least 10 times between then and now.  LOL.

I have pics of the sample dress in my bio, but I'll post some dress porn on Saturday after I pick it up from alterations :-D

I can wait till January because I'm pretty packed as it comes to my schedule.  This weekend is my birthday, next weekend Danish man and I finally move the rest of our stuff out of storage and into our house.  Which is still a BIG project.  The carpet was installed last weekend but there is no kitchen. Hahaha.  So the remainder of the month is devoted to the house.  The first weekend in November is a bachelorette party for a friend in Vegas and then I come back work 4 days and leave for the Canary Islands with Danish Man until Thanksgiving and then Thanksgiving with both our families.  Then comes the Holiday shopping season.  BAM!  Before I know it, it is January.  I'll be fatter from the Holidays and afraid to try on my dress. 

Which I think that if keep my dress in mind then it will force me to curb my holiday eating.  Man I was so looking forward to pumpkin pie, stuffing and gravy with lots of mashed potatoes. 

Its ok Lunar, I know you're not BSC.  You don't have to post but you can tell me what you like?  Mermaid, ballgown.... A-line?  Frills?

Yeah the sales lady told me that during usually busy times that would be the time line, but since its a slow season that the dress was done faster.  If I had ordered back in March for the summer/fall season that my dress would have taken longer. I'm still debating about the shoulder strap and the flower detail on my hip.  I might want to switch out the flower for something else but I'm not sure what.  Because I feel without something the dress would be too plain.  Anyone have ideas?

Moto - I would DEFINITELY try on the dress before you make the final payment. Make sure it is the right dress and the right size. It only takes ten minutes, so give them a heads up before you go in so that you can try it on.

The same thing happened with my dress. It was supposed to come in in December, it came in AUGUST! I went and tried it on, and they were gracious enough to hold it for me AND not make me make the the final full payment since it came in so early. I'm making a payment every month and will have it paid off around Dec. 1 if not earlier.

I think that you can add wedding dreses to the list of reasons that people hype up you needing to have a million years to plan a wedding. 

I bought my dress on ebay as a sample 3 months or so before our wedding.  It was about 75% off!  Haha.

I love looking at all of the different kinds of dresses and seeing them on so many different body types.  There is truly a dress for every woman. 

For sh!ts and giggles, here is a dress that I loved but it just wasn't right for the wedding we were having.  It seemed much too modern for a church ceremony followed by a farm reception.

LoL!  Which way to the gun show?  That way.  Mutley I'm not as lucky in finding things on eBay or sites that recycle wedding dresses.  Boy I wish I could.  But I got off fairly good on the price.  Both dresses look great on you, I do love that second dress, the detail on the back is what draws me.

Thanks Golide, I can't wait to see it in person.  That day I had it on is a blur to me since I had so many dresses on.  I was torn between that one and simple A-line that ha pockets.  In the end FI was drooling when I had the fit and flare on so I went with that.  I want his face to look just like that when I walk down the aisle.

I think it might be fun if you could somehow color the flowers on the shoulder strap or replace them with a replica of some small orange dahlias (if I am reading your inspiration pics right.)  I think that it would look stunning with Hawaii as a backdrop.  This splash of color on your white dress while you two are saying your vows.   

Then again, I have crazy fashion and decor ideas.
