Saturday night / KUI

Good evening ladies! DH is out of town, so I'm about to pop open an Angry Orchard Cider and organize photos from the wedding so I can mail them to friends and family. After that, I'm hitting up the wedding room. It's been four months, so I'm more than past due to get that cleaned up.

What are you all up to tonight?

Re: Saturday night / KUI

  • Hi buggle! I saw your quilt on FB, it was gorgeous! DH just off-handedly mentioned that he has set aside a bunch of his race t-shirts for us to make a quilt out of one day. I thought that might be a great gift for him when he does his first Ironman. It will probably be late 2013 or 2014, so I've got some time to figure out how to do it myself.

I have wine, come on over!

  • I would LOVE a hard cider; that sounds amazeballs. I'm unwilling to leave the Olympics for long enough to go buy some though.

I do have raspberry vodka and a SodaStream (did you guys know I have a SodaStream?  I'm pretty sure I've never mentioned it before :) ), so maybe I'll have a fruity vodka soda.

I'm in kind of a blah mood today.  Alcohol is probably a must.

Hard cider sounds good. Soon I'm going to make myself a lemonaide and sweet tea vodka.  BF & I saw a musical at a new theater that opened about an hour away and then we went out for a pretty nice dinner.  Had some great ice cream at this homemade place and are now relaxing in front of the tv

[QUOTE]Elle, you have a SodaStream? I totally didn't know that. Do you like it?

I like it ok.  I mean, I use it occasionally but it's not like the best thing ever.

I always add ice because I love crunching on it, but if you chill the water before you carbonate it, it's not necessary.

Has it been hard learning to sign a different name?  It took years for my signature to develop; if I had to change it I'm sure it would look like kindergarten writing.

I haz Cupcake Red Velvet Wine <3

I just finished ironing for tomorrow (e-pics). I have both of our "regular" outfits picked out & ready to go, I also have our "Save the Date" tshirts that I had made ready to go. Now I'm debating on whether we should bring jerseys with us. We could do our Devils jerseys or we could do me in my Eagles jersey & him in his Dolphins jersey. Or I guess we could also do both or neither.  Thoughts, anyone?

<div>For me, there are two hard parts: 1) Remembering which name to sign depending on whether I've changed my name on that credit card/account or not. 2) My maiden name allowed me to sign my whole name without lifting the pen. Now that I have a last name starting with L, I have to stop after my middle initial and think for a 1/2 second.</div><div>
</div><div>Honestly, the hardest part is introducing myself as my new name. It still seems so foreign to me, even after four months.</div>

<div>I'd bring both sets of jerseys. You might only take one or two pics in each, but it will probably be cute to have those once the football and hockey seasons start again. </div>

I can imagine.  I've had a few people refer to me as Macy Hislastname since the wedding and it gives me the heebie jeebies.

See...  I love my last name.  It's unusual, but not weird, and it goes well with my first name.  It would break my heart if I had to give it up.

It does make me sad sometimes, though, that H and I don't have the same last name.
  • If I loved by last name I'd keep it too.
